This hotel offered a great room with a fitness center, good internet, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, and a delicious breakfast. It is close to the Iowa State campus. It was not the cheapest room in the area, but the best value for all you get.

Great hospitality from associates and housekeeping. We've always stayed at the Country Inn whenever we were in town. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. Very close to the freeway for easy access!
My wife and I stayed there while visiting family. As other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is showing its age. That being said, everywhere I looked, it was clean. The carpet in the hall and on the stairs had some stains, but no loose debris.. There were a few cosmetic issues but we were paying for a bed and room, not a view of the hallway. I lifted up the mattress and found nothing that shouldn't be there. I had no concerns about walking around the room in stocking feet. Staff was fine, the breakfast lady was nice. Food at the breakfast was average. and it opened conveniently early. There was the usual in-room coffee (no tea, though), as well as a fridge and microwave. Both of those were in the console the TV was on. TV selection was OK, but the on screen guide wasn't displaying what was on each channel. I'm not sure if that is a hotel issue, however,..The outdoor area looked inviting, but it was hot outside and we didn't venture to that section. Tha A/C in the room worked very well.
We got there and hadn’t booked a room. I asked if they could match the internet price and he said no, he tells oll I’d his customers to book online. I stood in the lobby and booked my room online. We got our keys and went to the room to find 1 bath towel for 3 adults. There were not any wash towels or hand towels either. I called the front desk and he said they were slammed and we need to come down to get them. I went down to find the front desk empty and the towel laying on the counter. In the morning we got up to go to breakfast and there was only 1 table empty and it was filthy. A woman walked by with a towel and cleaner in her hand and I asked her if she could wipe the table. She said in a minute and walked away to clean off the coffee counter. I got some napkins and hot water from the tea station and wiped off the table. 10 minutes later as we were eating she said she would come wipe it off. I know these people are busy, but I don’t think I asked for much.
