While planning a trip to Belize, I found the Singing Sands Inn on the Internet. It looked interesting so I booked a room for my wife, Pat, and I for a four night stay. When we arrived we were delighted to find beautiful accommodations.
Singing Sands is located on the narrow peninsula that terminates at the resort community of Placencia. It occurs near the tiny village of Maya Beach, about eight miles north of Placencia. Singing Sands is amid tropical gardens and tall coconut palms along a small beach that faces the Caribbean Sea. If you are an early riser, you can catch spectacular views of morning sunrises.
Accommodations are small thatched roof Cabanas, which are cozy and comfortable. Singing Sands also has a small swimming pool and a delightful restaurant, the Bonefish Grill, which serves an outstanding variety of Thai and Italian dishes as well as fresh seafood. Immediately to the west of the Inn is the Placencia Lagoon, which is forested with thick groves of red mangrove.
The Inn is owned and operated by two delightful sisters, originally from South Korea. They are most accommodating and are happy to arrange day trips for guests. These include boat trips for snorkeling in the Silk Cays or to the Monkey River, on the mainland, where you can catch a view of noisy howler moneys in a dense tropical rain forest.. With a bit of luck, you may also be treated to sighting and manatees en route to Monkey River.

We stayed 14 nights at Singing Sands for second time and can’t say enough about the way they treat us and just the overall experience of this quiet quaint resort on Maya Beach. Highly recommend this place for couples more so than families as there’s not much for kids to do here. We will be back!

Room Tip: We always stay in the #1 cabana but the other 5 cabanas are just as nice

We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful place. We loved the design of the room / cabanas and the beautiful and well accomodated beach with
hammocks hanged to the palm trees. The restaurant food was tasty, thought a little bit pricey ( if you're travelling on a budget ) and the staff is really helpful and friendly.
The place is quiet and we weren't even disturbed by the noise of the cute racoons, agutti or birds hanging around.
I recommend.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Singing Sands for 4 days in late Dec-17. It's a nice, small beachfront resort - the service was great, the cabanas are nicely done and the food was excellent. Downsides are it's quite small and the cabanas are located close to the restaurant which meant a little less sense of privacy around the meal times. But given the price, it was a very good value.

My husband and I stay for 7 nights at Singing sands. We had a wonderful stay. It was quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our cabana (#2) was closest to the beach, which was literally steps away. Located at Maya beach, you are miles away from Placencia beach town but we had a rental car so the distance was not a problem for us. It would be to far of a walk and still a far bike ride. Having a rental car was the way to go because it gave us the freedom to travel all over the country of Belize. There are so many day trips to do and having this travel freedom was nice. The restaurant at singing sands was a nice convenience, but we enjoyed venturing into Placencia and eating at the local small grills and restaurants. Amazing food and cheaper prices then the Bone fish grill. Overall, our stay at Singing Sands was wonderful and we would return.
