My wife and I were in Belize for a week of birding for our 40th anniversary. We had not gone into Belize City much because we tend to avoid "touristy" areas. We checked out Trip Advisor, looking for real Belizean food and this fit the bill perfectly. We located Marva's easily from the directions and asked the owner (?) for suggestions about what we should order. One of us ordered stew pork, and the other had stew chicken, both of which are traditional Belizean meals that include rice & beans and fried plantains. We were served by the cook who was friendly and took time to be sure we were happy with the food, which was excellent. If we had had a chance to go back into Belize City, we surely would have eaten there again.
