Very easy to get to, just across from the terminal. Very easy to rent from. Relatively inexpensive, but I would suggest paying a bit extra to get a newer car. 4 wheel drive isn't a bad idea, not sure if we really needed it where we went, but good to have. We had an Equinox with 50,000 miles and was 4 years old. It ran excellently, no problems and was in very good condition. Quickly checked back into at the airport...very easy. One side note, the drivers in Belize like to take their half out of the middle of the road and only move over a bit when driving past you. They do speed there, but I wouldn't recommend you doing that. Speed bumps seem to just pop out of the ground! Every thing is far away, we put 300 miles on the car in 6 days. Take your time, don't get upset, just go with the flow.

For the first time rented a car from Crystal Auto Rental. Service and communication is marvelous. No trouble with the vehicle, prices amazing and worth it. They are just a phone call to make if need extensions and no hassle. A cooler to use for traveling, a phone to call them direct for problems. We have rented a vehicle from Crystal Auto 3 times, over the past 3 years. The service and communication is outstanding., & the ease of renting a vehicle upon arrival to BZE is so smooth! The vehicles are durable and comfortable. They have always included a ride for us, from their facility in Belize City to the water taxi, in town. We've never experienced any complications with our vehicles, but confident that help would be on its way immediately if a problem occurred.
