This was our second trip to Pelican Reef Villas. Our children had so much fun, and enjoyed the people at Pelican Reef Villas last year, they insisted on returning; it was a unanimous, no-brainer decision to visit again! That says something. This year was no different. What a treat to see all the familiar, smiling faces!

We love the location south of San Pedro. Its out of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to indulge. Michaela and Candra are wonderful. Everyone is so accomodating and kind. Michaela arranged a wonderful table at the Blue Water Grille for a "Date Night". If a massage on the beach sounds great, or an afternoon fishing, the resort can set it up for you.

Getting to Ambergris takes time, but once you arrive at Pelican Reef, its just so relaxing. The Villas are well-stocked, clean and comfortable. Everyone works tirelessly to keep the grounds impeccable. The (included) breakfast in the morning is great, and the resort has kayaks and paddle-boards readily available for use. Our kids loved the pool, and it provided the "fill-in" entertainment between fishing and snorkeling.

Pelican Reef is great for groups, families, and couples.

Room Tip: I like the Garden Room because its a better value.

Traveled with friends late 20s/early 30s - we loved this place. Upon arrival they had a welcome sign with our names, along with complimentary rum punches and a quick and thorough welcome speech from Michaela. She didn't miss a beat. Breakfast is fine and complimentary, good choices, lots of coffee, fresh watermelon and pineapple juice was delicious. snorkeling, paddleboards, bicycles, and kayaks are complimentary! we definitely explored the island and made the decision we had booked the most luxurious resort. we were celebrating my birthday and they decorated the room so beautifully with banners and balloons! the villa was lovely. had a jacuzzi bathtub and beautiful balconies. kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed.
things to note: the pool is deep. there is no shallow end except the swim up bar. not good for small children i'd say, and colder. i think the sun only hits the pool in the morning time. otherwise it is shady all throughout the day.
also: the resort is 2 miles from san pedro downtown. they have roundtrip valet service that comes at around 22 usd....but we opted to take the golf carts which were AWESOME AND SO FUN. we got caught in a downpour and it was hilarious. rent them for the whole day if you can and explore. everyone drives them there.
also to note: please try el fogon and el vis, AMAZING food. fridos is great for live outdoor bands and playing football games. blue water grill we were not impressed with, go there for drinks only. make reservations via michaela if you can. sometimes el vis doesnt take reservations, make it a must to go there.
also to note: go to LAMANAI mayan ruins. we did the jungle river cruise tour and the full day hike and it was one of the BEST experiences we have ever had. they actually let you climb them! one was over 100 feet high with breathtaking views.
we took the puddle jumper to ambergris caye. completely worth the extra money, as the boat adds on about 3-4 hours of traveling we were told. it is only a 15 minute flight and they let me sit in the cockpit next to the pilot!
the best part of belize was the food and the people are SO nice. would definitely go back!

We had a 2 bedroom villa on the second floor and loved the Pelican Reef Villas. The room looking out to the ocean was terrific, but what really made our stay special was the attentive service. Michaela is the primary concierge and she is fabulous. She helped us make dinner and excursion reservations, along with giving spot on advice on how to best spend our time in Belize. The Pelican Reef dock leading out to the ocean is the best on Ambergis Caye and we spent a portion of each day there. The complimentary breakfast each morning had plenty of options to select from, was delicious and can be delivered to anywhere you like on the property. We live in the midwest US and the travel to Belize is not easy, but the Pelican Reef Villas made it worth the effort. We definitely recommend it if you're looking for relaxation, special service you wouldn't find at a large hotel and spectacular marine life.

Room Tip: There aren't elevators, so if walking to the 2nd or 3rd floor is an issue for you, request a ground floor room.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon at Pelican Reef and had an amazing time. The service made us feel like first class travelers and the food was very good. We had such a nice and relaxing time there. Staff gave us excellent recommendations on where to visit in town and what activities to do while in Belize. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Pelican Reef. As said by others it is a little out of the way but very easy to get around the small island so it isn't an obstacle in my opinion.

You will not be disappointed staying here. The location is perfect and the staff is AMAZING. Any and everything you need can be booked/done by the staff. The lodging is spectacular as well. I was apart of a group of 24 people. Everything and every aspect of the trip was done to perfection with the staff and local boat/fishing captains.

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs ask for a first floor room.
