5 star customer experience from the Manager

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 6 Jun 2024
You can read hundreds of reviews about the hotel itself. This review is for Charlotte Cool, the Manager on Duty.

We had an issue that needed to be resolved for our stay in June 2024. I won't get into the details, but I will say - we travel a lot, deal with a lot of hotel managers etc. Charlotte handled it way faster than we expected, and was very helpful and understanding.

5 stars for that. If the Manager on Duty is this kind and helpful to a customer who has not even paid or stayed yet, imagine how nice they are when you are an actual paying customer on site! Thank you Charlotte.

Outstanding hotel! We stayed 8 nights during Spring break and loved our stay! The rooms were huge! 2 showers .. so good to get ready quickly. We enjoyed star bucks, the staff super friendly, the store handy, the waterslides so much fun, the view from our balcony amazing, fireworks and the Matterhorn. The walk to downtown Disney was short. Thank you for helping us create the most amazing family memories!

Room tip: Get a balcony view of Disneyland, super special to watch fireworks from your room.

Terrific hotel. Its the fancyness you expect from a Courtyard...but amazing in that it has thought through your every logistical need for a Disney Trip. Son LOVED the bunk bed and the water park. The cafe had a perfect selection of yummy non fried food. The food shop had great drink and ok snack selection. Walk was super easy from the park. So glad we 'downgraded' from the Disneyland Hotel to this one.

If you are considering this hotel, there are things you should know: first the pros:
Very nice, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms. Well appointed with Keurig coffeemaker, microwave, fridge and safe
Friendly, accommodating staff
Water park great fun (the number of guests at any one time controlled by free reservation).
Very quiet
Magical lobby.
There are some rooms that have the bunk beds in a separate room from the main room - you might request if you don’t want kids right next to you.
If you are there on the weekend, request a room at the front of the hotel and you will have a front row seat on your balcony to the spectacular fireworks at the park.
Cons: Though it is billed as being at entrance, it is a bit of a walk - probably 3/4 of a mile. With all of the walking you do at Disneyland (our Fit Bit said 10+ miles)that extra 1 1/2 miles is a lot, especially for the return or with young children. We did a VIP tour so had parking at park included with that but we were all commenting there was no way we would have walked back.
Most of the plugs in the room didn’t work. The plugs wouldn’t even stay in the sockets. I had to charge my devices in the bathroom. For a business person who wanted to have a computer plugged in at the desk, it would have been more of a problem. Unacceptable for a $500 a night room.
Only option is valet park - expensive.
In my opinion, it is unacceptable (again with a $500 a night room) that there isn’t a free continental breakfast. Most better hotels offer either continental or full breakfast. The cafe in the lobby is expensive fast food and only so so.
If possible, go to the Original Pancake House, (not far but you do need a car or Uber) for a really outstanding breakfast. Mimi’s Cafe, in front of the hotel, would probably be a better option, also.
Hope this helps you decide. Overall, I would stay again.

Family trip April 21-26 2024. 2 adults, 2 kids 2.5/5 YO. Chose this hotel for bunk beds, water park, park view and spacious rooms, proximity to park

hotel style not motel style rooms.

Rooms: Upgraded to water park view to make it more special for kids. Did not disappoint, each room has mini mini balcony with sliding door that looks out on water park. Some noise as it’s open till 10pm but not a lot of water parkuse in the 7-10pm slot.
No kettle, only a single cup kurtis with 4 pods provided and some powder creamo.
half mini fridge with adjustable racks. we fit in a dozen eggs, a 4L jug of milk, some drinks, creamo, 6 yogurts, butter and cheese sticks and hummus. Our mini pops fit in the fridge in a designated spot but if u plan on having cold drinks bring a collapsible cooler b/c if u have food in the fridge too you won’t fit in like glass bottle beers or anything like that.
No kettle in the room. Requested one pre-arrival and it wasn’t in room so called down as first keurig didn’t work- they came up within 20 min with a new keurig and a kettle.
Bunk beds: the hotel provided a bed rail free of charge for the lower bunk, just call and request one. otherwise the baby rental companies around do rent them out, having the hotel provide one was a nice bonus tho. beds were sturdy, clean and big enough for me to lay down comfortable. i’m 5’6”.
Service: Mainly great. Valet staff courteous, attentive, and visible. They hustle!
Lobby staff Initial welcome coming in was lackluster. the two staff at the desk watched me come in but continued speaking to one another, no real greeting until i was right in front of desk which i thought was a bit off putting. Later on sorting out the instacart order was better and maybe i walked in during an important convo, who knows.
Pool door staff and life guards all professional, courtiers and thorough. Cleaning staff: I never saw them as we were gone during day but on 2nd day they come in to clean and room was satisfactory. We were happy and my girls were thrilled they laid out their blankets from home with such care!
Amenities:
Waterpark: Hot tub broken for 2 days but running by 3rd day. Perfect temp for even my 2.5 year old. What i love about the water park is the springy padded floor of the whole play water park area. It’s soft and springy and way safer than water parks with cement. There’s a toddler wading pool which was warmer, a smaller rectangular pool, 2 big slides and a huge water park/splash pad structure perfect for kitties but the bucket does douse the park at intervals so listen for the metal wheel to start going faster, and clear out if you don’t want to get drenched. Pool towels are provided by the pool door staff and there’s ample supply.
There is lots of seating, both lounge chairs and reg chairs with some bistro tables.
saw some ppl having drinks at the pool but there’s no bar in the pool area. no food there either.
Cafe: apparently there’s starbucks coffee here but we didn’t try the bistro food or coffee.
Store: there’s a disney souvenir store, as well as a little snack store. could buy alot of gifts here prob slightly cheaper than the parks.
Accessibility: we needed to rent an ECV scooter for unanticipated injury prior to trip. there’s a little alcove for storage when u enter the room- with a plug in. we stored the double BOB in the bathroom overnight so the ECV could charge cause they def don’t fit together.
Disney Related: gift store with plushes, key chains, magnets, autograph books (12.99 for hardback one with pen), t shirts, megs ect. also snacks and a wall of drugstore type stuff. open 07-10pm. 7 min walk to park, elevator around 730 am very busy so try go before that if u are ropedropping.
enjoy! we’ll be back :)
