Recommended for budget travelers visiting Disneyland

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 18 Feb 2024
This property is a fantastic value. I was running the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend MLK weekend. This motel has a 15 to 20-min walk to Disneyland south on Harbor Blvd over I-5 overpass and race start corrals. It's by a Starbucks and gas station and 15-min walk to a smaller Walmart store, McDonald's and Burger King. The rate I got with no cancellation penalty was amazing. Highly recommend for budget traveler. Definitely better than Motel 6. Room was clean. Large bed was comfortable. I didn't experience the "hard" mattresses that others have complained about. Due to flight delay, I didn't arrive until 3:30 a.m. The front-desk guy graciously got up to check me in. Payment was due then. He also allowed me to split my charges onto 2 credit cards allowing me to maximize my credit-card rewards. He also granted me a late checkout for a couple of hours for $20. He was provided another box of tissues on request. There were 2 issues: the room I got did not have a heater. Only an a/c. With Jan temps in the high 30s early in the morning, it was freezing. I told them it was cold a couple of days later (I was busy with Disney and didn't get around to it until then) and they gave me a heater which had a faulty auto-shutoff and didn't work. I got busy and told them closer to the end of my stay. The guy gave me a second small heater that worked. Disneyland had fireworks at 9:30pm Sat and Sun and they did wake me up when I went to bed early on the Sat. I would stay again despite the issues.

Room Tip: If you go during the winter and it's chilly, remember to ask for a heater at the front desk when...

Booked in for 12 nights as we needed somewhere close to Disneyland resort, we aren’t experienced travellers so we thought we would remain in one place and move around by car.

Very impressed with the speed of check-in and friendly service we were provided with upon arrival. It’s a family run business (we believe) so you are likely to get a better level of service.

The property provided us with free parking while staying also which was one of the reasons we chose it over other options in the area. The price was low and we didn’t expect much but we were very happy with the hospitality shown and the room we had.

The room offered air conditioning/heating. The bed was to our comfort. The bathroom was clean and reasonably new. It had a small kitchen area where everything provided worked fine. We couldn’t really be happier with it for the price we had paid. We experienced no major issues while staying.

You can see the Disney fireworks from the balcony of the car park which is a nice bonus. The walk to the resort is around 10-15 minutes which is ideal. It also within walking distance of some fast food restaurants and a convenience store.

Would definitely recommend staying here and will likely use again if we travel to Anaheim again.I’m

Brilliantly run place to stay. Owner / operator can’t do enough for the guests. Rooms are clean and modern, plenty of space and well maintained. Within walking distance to the Disney parks and local shops and eateries.
Owner has a bag holding area for early arrivals and late departures so you can enjoy the parks all day.
Highly recommend the Astoria inn and suites, go for this hotel rather than the bugger hotels in the area. As you will be looked after.

Room tip: Owner goes out his way to meet the guests needs.

My family stayed in a family suite (3 beds, one in the bedroom and 2 in the main room). The motel has free parking and is walking distance from Disney, although the #43 and 543 buses stop nearby and are a quick and cheap way to save your feet. There is a small fridge and a microwave in the room, but no cutlery or crockery. We bought some disposable ones from the supermarket as we were trying to eat in to save money, it would’ve been great to have some basics provided. The room itself was dated but clean and tidy; housekeeping was great. The beds were on the hard side but after a long day at Disney, I could’ve slept on the floor for all I cared. At half the price of a hotel around the corner, and a room twice the size, this is a great option if you’re on a budget and don’t care about having all the bells and whistles.

We slept there for two nights while visiting Disneyland. It's not close to the park, but it is a 10 minute walk.
Our room was very big, in fact It had a smaller room inside. The beds were confortable, even though one if them made a strange noise.
The receptionist was very nice.
And they also let us using their parking while un Disneyland.

If you're the kind of traveler who believes hotels are just a place for sleeping, this is the place for you--and I don't mean that negatively.

We stayed here for four nights for the NAMM trade show, and it fit the bill perfectly. The rooms are basic but clean, reasonably spacious, and with updated (budget) modern style. The fridge and microwave let us make our own breakfast, and the location provided for a cheap Lyft ride to the Convention Center. There's a desk for getting your work done and good wi-fi. You're the best judge of whether you need or want more, but for us, it got the job done.
