Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Cambria, even with some minor issues. Would stay there again!
Liked · Breakfast was good, but was crowded the later it got. Breakfast was basically the same each morning, but with some slight variations. Loved the Mickey waffles! Very good flavor and texture. Nice selection of juices - including POG juice! Layout of the breakfast area was pretty functional with plenty of available seating.
Water park was fun - my son loved it! Outdoor area was very nice and water was heated (including water slides), which was perfect on a 60-65 degree day. Our king suite was lovely! Beds/pillows were comfy and our son loved the top bunk! Place was clean, staff was surprisingly friendly and our room was perfect. We had an upper floor with a view of the parks, as I had requested. Bathroom with 2 showers was amazing - really liked this feature! The color scheme in our suite was so nice; the mural on the bedroom wall was gorgeous too and the lighting around the bed was a nice touch.
We stayed 4 nights and housekeeping didn't clean our room at all, although they attempted to come the 3rd day, but we were in the room, so they left. This wasn't a big deal to us, but it has been a negative for other reviewers. Had we stayed longer, I would have definitely requested it at least once. I received texts nearly every day from the hotel asking how our stay is and if we needed anything, which I thought was nice. They were also very accommodating to hold our luggage both on our arrival and departure days, since our flight times were early/late and we wanted to go to the parks more. We had nice interactions with Jasmine(?) and Sheila at the front desk too.
Disliked · Breakfast became a little boring after the first morning or two. They were out of most juices every morning but one, which was disappointing. Mickey waffles were great but they take a while to cook since each family cooks several. Quite a line forms to make them, which takes precious time on a busy park morning; I think 2-4 more waffle makers would help this. Staff did not seem to regularly check and replenish food items like: juice, syrup, etc.
Liked everything about the water park except the hot tub jets were not working/turned on. The knob was completely missing from the control panel, so you didn't even have the option to use the jets. You could sit in the hot water, but that's about it. No explanation or signage for this, timer knob just wasn't there and no option to soothe your sore back and legs with jets after a park day. C'mon Cambria! This has been noted in several prior reviews and needs to be FIXED. The regular pool, splash pads, sports court and movie screen were amazing and so fun!
Room was nice but that fold out couch - ugh! We didn't even use the fold out bed (which I've heard was thin and awful), but just the couch itself was pretty sad looking - very sunken in and not comfortable to even sit on. Bedroom closet was VERY hard to open, to the point where we just didn't use it because it was such a chore to get in and out of, so we had to leave our suitcases open and accessible all the time. There also wasn't a whole lot of storage in the bedroom at all, except for the closet that was difficult to open.
The mini kitchen was really nice - full fridge and microwave, with a Keurig and some complimentary coffee & tea with supplies, but no other dishes or utensils. No ice maker in the freezer, but there is an ice bucket in the room and an ice machine down the hall.
I must admit, I was a little underwhelmed at some aspects of our visit as noted above, but overall it was a very nice place and we would stay there again. Location is very convenient and there were several eating establishments right next door, including Starbucks. We walked to the nearby Toy Story parking lot and rode the free shuttle to the parks each day - awesome!
A handful of issues that can be addressed by the hotel, but overall a great place to stay!More
