What used to be a nice modern Indian restaurant in the years past has now become a worn out tired place. Food quality is at best, just ok. As an example Kerala fish curry came with 3 tiny pieces of fish swimming in a bowl of watery sauce with no flavors. Service is limited, the servers can’t even recommend anything on the menu - “everything is good” when it’s not. They seem to get uneasy with simple questions. Decor and furnishings are wearing out. Wonder what it takes for the owners to realize the lost charm this place had.

The food was greAt and the service also good.
Great cocktails specially the garam masala with Vodka was great.
The appetizer we had the fried cauliflower and the chutney which came with that was great. Mint paratha was also good. Dal tadka for a change was great
Highly recommended

We have been visiting Indique more or less since it opened in 2002. Our recent visit confirms it has gone a long way downhill.

We made reservations and after a little wait seated upstairs by the windows, which was perfectly fine. However, there is a lack of professional at the front desk, as well as some confusion among the huddled staff, as well as a pre-occupation caused by the business now heavily into takeaways. Being in the takeaway business inevitably distracts management attention from the seated guests who come to a restaurant for a pleasant evening with friends or family. Our server was also confused as to whether we could order happy hour drinks, even though we visited Indique during their happy hour window, and he had given us the happy hour drinks list! So, in order to take advantage, I had to traipse downstairs to the bar where, lo and behold, the charming and efficient young woman offered to have our drinks brought to the table! Go figure. We ordered popadoms and mango chutney, which was fine, as was the house pinot noir and a nice gin cocktail that arrived soon after, but the main dishes were not. My lamb rogan josh and my wife's chicken biriani were pretty bad - the kind of food you get too often when you have takeaways, without any comeback on quality. The lamb was overcooked and tasteless while the sauce made very unsubtle use of spices and heavy use of chili powder. The chicken in the biriani was also overcooked and lacked flavour.

Clearly, Indique's halcyon days passed some time ago. When you have to say that the best parts of the meal were the pinot noir, cocktail, and the mango lassi, the conclusion is obvious. Avoid in future. There are also some real staff training issues that the management needs to address. Or, maybe, they want to close the restaurant and become a takeaway outlet. Good luck with that.

Our go-to Indian place in DC. Everyone who works here is so nice, they make you feel at home. The food is always excellent and the portions are decent (but we always want more!). They can accommodate special food requests too, which is nice. This is a good place to take family or friends, or go on a date. Yum!

This is one of the best INdian restaruants in the DC area ( there are over 200). Decided to try carry out and was not disappointed at all. Quick service, great food. A bit pricey.
