Having sampled a few restaurants on this trip it was a delight to come across Le Grenier. Décor and music create a French atmosphere which is reinforced by the polite and professional service. Whilst not 'nouvelle cuisine' presentation was good and the food quality excellent. Similarly the wine we had (Languedoc Roussillon) was very good value by the bottle.

Excellent food and atmosphere at a moderately priced restaurant for DC that allows casual dress. A very nice way to spend an evening after a stressful week at work. We will definitely be coming back when we are in town.

An eclectic French Bistro with a great menu - check it out yourself. We arrived early and Marie, the proprietor seated us immediately in the upper deck front. Great seats and out of the hub-bub of downstairs. I can say that my wife's salmon was tasty, well presented, and highlighted with a yogurt/garlic/dill sauce. My escargot were good with a nice dipping sauce. I had the scallop and shrimp combination and it was wonderful. I almost had the lamb, but resisted. Our server Martin was attentive and not intrusive. Marie was very helpful with selections and background on Le Grenier. We will return and try more selections on the wonderful menu.

On a busy Thursday night we turned up and managed to secure seats at the bar. This turned out well as we enjoyed the convivial atmosphere among the staff and other diners.
The cuisine was outstanding. Fresh, classic French fare, beautifully executed. The ‘mon chouchou’ salad was a delicious starter, the salmon was nicely done, and the duck confit cassoulet was the best we’d had.
Overall, our best dining experience in DC.

We had a wonderful evening and meal. The escargot were nicely prepared and my veal stuffed cabbage main entree was different and extremely good. The Vol u vent was very authentic and the Beef Bourgeon was spot on. We shared a triple chocolate dessert option - it put us over the top!

The wait staff was friendly and professional without hovering, and we could actually have a conversation in the very charming dining area.

I highly recommend this option in the popular H Street Corridor. We will be back.
