I stayed here on my way home a few days before Christmas 2016, and got upgraded to a top-floor suite. Really liked the building and my room was absolutely stunning. Fitness facilities looked nice although I didn't get a chance to try them out. Breakfast was quite good, I opted to order a la carte and was able to get a decently healthy meal for roughly the same $ as the buffet menu. Service was flawless throughout the stay.

Only real drawback is that the location is a bit isolated from much of DC, about a ten-minute walk from the metro and a bit sketchy/deserted at night (although there's a cab stand right in front of the hotel). Depending on where you need to be this could be a big deal, or not.

About your comments on our location and neighborhood: you are in for a real treat when you next return. We are looking forward to welcoming you back very soon. Please enjoy all of your future travels.

Kind regards,

First class in every respect from arrival to departure. We had an Executive Water View Suite which was spacious and comfortable. It's a short cab ride to most attractions however these are always available right outside. Special thanks to the concierge team; Lynn, Jack and Phil for their outstanding assistance plus Markas for help with our transport needs. Thanks also to Wil for making us feel special on our wedding anniversary. The bar staff were also most gracious and helpful to us. Would definitely return to this hotel again.

My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. Everything about our stay was impeccable. From the service, to the decor, ambience and cleanliness, to the delicious breakfast buffet options, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Every staff member we encountered were extremely friendly and made you feel like they were there to ensure an amazing experience. We were so impressed that we would never consider staying anywhere else in D.C.
Of course, the convenience of being able to walk to any of the historic sites made this a perfect weekend getaway.

Stayed here for a conference. Just a couple of blocks from the National mall. Service was excellent. Do not rent a car to get around. Use uber or taxi. There is a train track next to hotel but we never heard any noise.

Dear Daniele148,

Thank you very much for staying with us at Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC. I am glad that everyone in your group enjoyed their visit.

It's important for us that your little ones enjoyed it, too. Our Little Fans all enjoyed a special gift of a plush panda upon arrival (but, don't tell them, so it can be a surprise). Of course, everyone, but the kids, especially, enjoy our indoor pool after a day of sightseeing in the nation's capital.

Please do come back and visit us again soon!

Kind regards,
Dave Walsh
