A nice river the area is filled with beautiful bridges, great parks, and living history. At some point in your DC trip your going to see it.

It's a nice river, but when you realize it's significance as part of Washington DC as well as historical significance, it means so much more.

The Potomac offers some great views of the capital, as it flows below bridges and through parks, to DC. You can also see some of the key attractions of DC, including the Pentagon, Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial, to name a few. Overall, head over to one of the bridges that cross this river, and you will get some great views of the city, worth taking photos of.

I routinely rent a Pontoon Boat that can comfortably seat 10-12 people to cruise the Potomac, have lunch and get a close up view of Airplanes landing, the Wilson Bridge, Washington Monument, Pentagon,

Have truly thrilled visitors, family, friends. Family loves to just relax and enjoy the day. Guest to include a Catholic Cardinal, a Congresswomen from the Congo, the Assistant Attorney General of Thailand and just some old fishing buddies feel so very special.

I was visiting the Lincoln Memorial and decided to walk behind the monument and follow the road around to the Potomac. The bridge is "guarded" by 2 gilded statues and the view across the river, as well as up and down, is great. Watch out for the busy roads if you are walking here.
