Disclaimer: I was passing through D.C. on a music tour and didn't pay for the room so I don't know how much it cost so balancing cost/amenities is not part of this review, but I really liked my brief stay here. The staff was really friendly and seemed genuinely friendly, not just 'required to act' friendly. The hotel seemed to be recently updated with a subtle, attractive, Chinese theme, which fits with the Chinatown location.
The location of the hotel is perfect for someone like me who likes to walk out the door and find interesting things right away. In this case, since the hotel is located in Chinatown, it was searching for a place to eat that looked intriguing, which I found right away and will be in a following review.
It is also situated very near the Smithsonian, the White House, and a number of other D.C. sights. Just 3 blocks to a major Metro line.
My room was small but nice, and quiet.
The morning buffet was perfectly adequate for my purposes.
