This hotel is right on the corner of two fairly busy roads in what I would call the Embassy quarter of the town. The Art Nouveau area is very close by but the old town is about 20 minutes walk away.
The front desk seemed in permanent chaos and nobody knew anything although one guy was very helpful with getting us on to WiFi.
All in all the hotel was OK and fine for what we wanted, tho a bit further away from the City Centre than we would have liked. One small thing that should be quite easy to fix, our room had Viennese blinds which look fine but are rubbish at keeping out the light. At this time of the year in Latvia it is light very early in the morning but with the amount of light in the room it was almost impossible to stay asleep.
We paid for the romantic package which included a dinner at the hotel. There was almost no atmosphere in the dining room, the food was OK tho nothing special.More
