Description: The three chefs restaurant „Tam labam būs augt” (The good must grow - Eng.) is a restaurant with the open kitchen, beloved by citizens and admired by guests of our city. It was founded in September 2011 by two famous Latvian chefs, Mārtiņš Sirmais and Ēriks Dreibants. Very fast the restaurant earned popularity and was acknowledged among the highest ranking restaurants in Riga. As a proof to it, in 2013 and 2014 it received a 3rd place in the Top 30 restaurants in Latvia Excellence award. Despite rocket fast success, we remain accessible, friendly and open to everybody. We love our clients and will provide perfect service even under the most complicated circumstances.

This is a very modern restaurant offering good food but as always in modern restaurants the portions are quite small. However the food combinations were good, innovative and everything tasted very well.

We had a wonderful meal. Favorite so far in the Baltics. Very creative. From the dipping sauce starter to my white asparagus app to the tuna, everything was great. Desserts were delicious as well: apple cake, sorbet and macarons.

If you decide to treat yourself to one special meal in Riga then I highly recommend booking this place

The food was excellent and very good price for the quality and experience, it was around €90 for three courses and a few glasses of wine, which I thought was very good value.

It’s a nice experience with very attentive staff

3 Pavaru Restorans is one place that comes up in all the guides you read about Riga as one of "the best restaurants in town". Its reputation as serious food place is well-deserved. The food was innovative, tasty, substantial and enjoyable, albeit a little gimmicky at times. Whilst not abiding by any credo around being "Latvian" (whatever that might be) or sourcing only local and seasonal produce, as other fine dining places do, its links to Latvian flavours with an international flair is clear. Perhaps reflecting the background of the found chefs who run it. The menu was varied enough to cater for a wide range of taste-buds and food requirements. The wine list was a little thin, but well priced. The wait staff were all extremely young and handsome, bringing to the dining room a sense of play and enjoyment that matched the fun vibe that goes with the good. If I have any criticism it was attention to detail in service, and really poor advice. I was dining alone and in the end, on advice form the wait staff, ordered two sides. This was way too much, which sort of annoyed me given they indicated it might not be enough. I was also surprised at how little knowledge they seem to have of wine on the list and how it might complement specific dishes on the menu (it wasn't that extensive a menu). A simple matter of a little on-the-job training -- and a familiar routine in most serious kitchens.

I sat at the bar watching the desserts being constructed, impressed by the amount of pre-production that went it each of them, which allowed the waiting staff to do the job of making them in the open bar area in the dining room. In the end however, I did not have dessert, too full from too many sides dishes that I didn't really need to make up the meal!

Overall I really enjoyed my experience -- and that it seemed was the intention: to give an experience that was more than about simply the food. It was well-priced and would cut the mustard in any town which takes its food culture seriously. A great end to a wonderfully relaxing weekend away in Riga.
