Description: B-Bārs Restorāns is well located in Riga Old Town, next to Dome Cathedral. "B" in the name stands for BALSAM, it is a traditional Latvian drink called Riga Black Balsam - we use it for cocktails and food. There are three parts at the location - restaurant hall, front hall and bar. We are serving a la carte all time and during working days from 12pm till 4pm we are serving our speciel weekly menu we call Business Lunch. On friday and saturday nights our bar part and front hall transforms to party zone, where live music and djs play for our customers. We call it the best party in town. Weekdays from 4pm till 7pm our customers are welcome to enjoy our Lucky Hour - order one get two cocktails. Bar is serving excellent cocktails from world classics and our signutare drinks.

We had "business" lunch for two for less than 10 € (drinks included). Qood quality food generally, friendly staff and a huge pavlova for dessert. Didn't try the cocktails though...

Really lovely place to eat, drink an party, still waitress Sarmite is not very welcoming and in case of any questions about price differences in receipt and menu, she just says it is not her problem. We than wanted to speak with restaurant manager, but she just threw managers phone to our table! Very disrespectful attitude towards clients and I'm very dissappointed about service, which by the way is 10% automatically!

Visited this cozy restaurant May 2016. The atmosphere is cozy but sophisticated. Tiger prawns as a starter were perfect. A bit spicy and nice tastes. Main dish: duck with a kind of strawberry saus. VERY good. Veal also as a main dish. Also VERY good and tender. Keep away from the napoleon dessert. The panne cotta as a dessert is good.

The waiters are very friendly and professional. On friday and saturday; come "early" to eat, since the restaurant will change to a popular crowded bar in the evening. We will come back for the food, and try drinks out in the weekend! Cheers.

We arrived at the bar for the 2 for 1 cocktail Happy Hour (admittedly at 6.58 p.m.). There was only one menu available and we waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged. When we got to order we were not given any help when I asked about the cocktail list and then we were told that we were too late for Happy Hour. Not impressed at all. Most places will honour a deal if you arrive before the offer time. There was a function outside so maybe they were too busy to take on additional customers. Left to go to a more welcoming bar.

Thank You for Your review!

We recommend You in future to arrive a bit sooner for Happy Hour. Or if You arrive to late be ready to order drinks instantly - Happy Hour ends at 7:00 p.m.. Orders after 7:00 p.m. do not apply to Happy Hour.

Thank You!

I visited Riga several times, but always ignored that place. I'm very much suspicious about any eating in the centers of old towns. I find them to be odd and "just for tourists". This time I was in Riga with my colleague. After a very intense day and meetings we decided "just to walk around the old city of Riga with no particular scope or destination". We wanted to enter Riga's Dom Cathedral. Alas it was closed. So we decided to drop into a bar for a drink. It was B-Bars, right opposite the main entrance of the cathedral. We asked for something very typical and joyful. They proposed a chocolate fondant. Well....before we left Riga three days after we decided to visit the bar "whatever it costs" The rest of their menu is worth trying. The fondant is definitely must!
