The adjective "grand" does suit this hotel perfectly but not to related to its size, but to its grandness in caring for elegance and exclusiveness in every detail!
Only 20min away by taxi from the airport, at the very heart of the small city of Rzeszów, 1min away from the main square/town hall, with facilities and superb restaurants all around!
The choice of decoration in every corner of the hotel indicates study and excellent taste, with elements of art and relaxation all around! In the atrium colourful umbrellas hang from the ceiling, most welcoming and creative!
The room is cosy and appealing, with an 'open washroom' concept, which won't suit friends nor workmates at all! The bed is also rather small, even for a couple, and there are pillows too many!
What annoys in the room is the central air-conditioning, which cannot be put down nor adjusted - why shouldn't I have the option to turn the thing on or off as I please, having the whole environment kept chilly and drying up one's skin and throat unwillingly??
Also, the shower is very unpractical, rather narrow and the whole bathroom is damp after a shower and has to be dried, or else one could slip and get injured! The 'Regenshower' concept seems more intelligent, as well as levelling down the floor, so the water flows to the rail and not into the room!
There's also nowhere to hang the towels...
Breakfast is eaten in the atrium and presentation makes you want to have some more! A good varierty of cheeses and cold cuts, great salad, one fresh soup, eggs' stand; on the other hand, the juices are industrialised and the cakes are too dry - no wonder, due to the air-conditioning!!
But the best asset of the hotel is the pool/sauna, you won't want to leave the area ever! A long and deep indoor pool with warm water and glass sides, along with a powerful jacuzzi on the side; on the floor below a dry and steam sauna, with chairs for complete relaxation!
Internet can be improved as well, at times it simple drops for some 5min!
If only some other so-called boutique hotels in the world would learn from Grand Hotel, they do there a great job and must only fix some minor points to become a reference in elegance in Eastern Europe!
