Owner description: The most significant square of historical Prague, it was founded in the 12th century and has been witness to many historical events. In addition to the Old Town Hall and the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the square is dominated by the Baroque Church of St Nicholas, the Rococo Kinský Palace, the Gothic House at the Stone Bell and the monument to Jan Hus. In the pavement of the square are memorial stones marking the execution of 27 Czech lords in 1621, and the Prague meridian.

The Old Town Square was buzzing because of the Easter food & craft stalls. A great place to enjoy a drink or meal al fresco and watch the world go by and soak up the history!

Old Town Square, now there’s a place, good to walk through for the historic experience, it would be much improved by the Astronomical Clock being back in working order, apparently that will happen in October 18 just in time for the Christmas Market influx, mmmmm. It was sad to see the poor condition of the poor exploited horses dragging tourists around for hours upon end. However ones money is much better spent by walking off the square and into the side streets. I would say there are much better areas of Prague to spend ones time.

It's one of the landmarks of Prague you shouldn't miss. There is a famous astronomical clock. The view is gorgeous and worth to see!

Unless you're on business, you can't miss the Old Town Square. My husband was sorely tempted to go at dawn just to see what it's like without 3,000 people in it - until I told him that I would not be happy to be woken up just for that.
My two favourite sights were the oriental brides queuing up to be photographed and the insane crowds watching a projection of the astronomical clock because the real thing's being repaired.

A fun place to hang out. A lot of activity despite the Astronomical Clock being under renovation. A very good place to people watch.
