We just completed a most excellent 6 day bike trip. It was flawless, from planning to execution. The manager, Vlastimil, communicated with us in perfect english and options were clear. We chose the higher level of hotels and were pleased with the accommodations. The bike trip was fabulous, through beautiful towns and country side. It was very easy to navigate with the provided GPS, maps, and descriptions. Most days there were options to make the ride shorter or longer, flatter or hillier. The bikes were new, in great condition, and well fitted to our size. We are a relatively fit couple in our 60's and managed the ride well. Some days were harder than others, but a beer at the end of the day was very restorative! We should note that we have no knowledge of Czech, but had no difficulty communicating. Sunny weather throughout was a bonus in late April.

My husband and I just went on the self-guided tour from Cesky Krumlov to Vienna. We are two Americans from Portland, OR who only speak English and are athletic (age 29) but novice cyclists. The trip was entirely seamless and we couldn't recommend this company more. (We opted for the self-guided option as we like the flexibility and time to just be together instead of with a group, which worked out great for us.) Everything from the routes, maps, directions, GPS, bikes, gear, restaurant/site recommendations, hotels, etc. were wonderful. If you are visiting Prague or Vienna and are looking for an adventure outside of the cities, this is the perfect trip. Great value. We had originally intended on bringing our 1-year-old son along on this trip in a baby seat, and although we decided against it in favor of a more romantic getaway if you are particularly strong cyclists you could definitely take your kid(s) along on this trip in a baby-seat or carrier as every hotel and restaurant was extremely kid-friendly.

Just finished six wonderful days of biking. This is billed as the Prague - Vienna Greenways Tour. Biking is actually from Český Krumlov to Mistelbach. You will be transferred by car or van from Prague to Český Krumlov where the biking starts, and then transferred by car or van from Mistelbach to Vienna. Milada was a great tour leader and Jindrich handled the luggage, bikes and van with style. Milada provided excellent historical and cultural information, both as part of the planned itinerary and in response to many questions from the group.

Overnights are in Třeboň, Telč, Vranov nad Dyjí, Znojmo and Mikulov. Ave arranges all hotels and they were very nice - nothing too luxurious but very well located in each town, and all rooms were clean and quite spacious. Breakfasts and dinner are included, including one alcoholic (or other) drink with each dinner. Every town has a castle, and there is time to visit several of them.

Biking is reasonably challenging. Skills / conditioning of the group ranged from novice to some strong bikers. Stronger riders were free to range ahead. Weaker riders were encouraged to ride in the van past hard hills and other challenging areas, and they seemed to enjoy Jindrich's company. Bikes were typical sturdy rental hybrids.

All in, this was a great way to see southern Bohemia and Moravia by bike, and was truly a great value!

We (2 couples) just finished our second self-guided bicycle tour arranged by Ave (June, 2017). We previously used Ave when we bicycled from Prague to Vienna (via Cesky Krumlov) in September a couple of years ago (we like to travel off-season whenever we can).

We originally chose Ave because we like to use local tour operators rather than going with someone from North America. You end up with a much richer and more authentic experience. Ave didn't disappoint.

As before, everything was great. We like to travel 2-3 star because we feel that we can get closer to the locals and the way they live. This trip met all of our expectations. And the hotels we stayed in were great (better than what you would expect from a 3 star in North America).

Ave is also really flexible about adding hotels days to the beginning or end of the tour. We changed the beginning our the trip by staying two nights in the centre of Orleans just off the main square instead of staying in the tour hotel that was outside of town. We highly recommend spending extra time in Orleans, if for no other reason than to relax and enjoy the town. And likewise in Saumur, at the end of the trip (it's a great base to use to explore the countryside and even return to some of the chateau's that you didn't feel like stopping to see).

Most hotels, except for 2, were within walking distance to restaurants/cafes. We took a taxi from one of them and we ate at the hotel for the second.

And for those who are worried that they will need a day off, using the train for a day would be easy on this trip (we didn't need to, in large part because the route is pretty flat).

I rented a bike on Saturday with a group of friends to go to Karlstejn Castle. The customer service was great and they even provided bottled water for us as it was a very hot day. The bikes were in good shape and they provided helmets as well. We had gorgeous views on our tour and I would definitely do this again! They were even flexible with our bike drop off time. We arrived much later than we had anticipated due to a train stop cancellation, but they were able to meet us at the shop and made sure we had a good time. Would recommend this company to anyone!
