We have just returned from this lovely resort and would highly recommend it.
When we arrived late on a Saturday we were greeted by such a friendly bunch who made the check in process a breeze. On to our room which was really nice, spacious, clean and very white which looked amazing. This is the theme throughout the resort and it really works. Our air conditioning didn’t work so I reported it, within 5 minutes the porter came to try to fix it with no success so after another few minutes he returned with Antonis who also tried but no success so promised it would be fixed first thing. Another person came that night so we really were impressed by the efforts made. The following day we left for breakfast and by the time we returned it was all working perfectly. A great service. We had a basic double room which was lovely but the better class rooms/ suites looked amazing!
Exploring on the first day we discovered the lovely beach. The water was lovely so clear and very kid friendly with a wide shallow band before deeper water to swim in. Sun beds were available for a €2.50 charge but the hotel is right on the beach and there are Bali beds at the hotel beach club, a lovely grassy area just behind the beach with sun beds there and the lower pool sun beds are also close by so really no need to pay if you don’t mind a short walk to swim in the sea. Either side of the beach was a coastal path taking you to Nissi beach in about 10 mins in one direction and Makronissos beach in the other. It was lovely and quiet there as the hotel is based in Asia Napa nature reserve.
I’ve mentioned the Beach Club and this was really our favourite place to go for liquid refreshment! We were all inclusive so everything was available to us but there were quite a lot of people who weren’t and had to pay. I’m glad I didn’t have to as it would have cost us a lot! During the day there was a lovely breeze floating through which was cooling after a morning in the sun and at night there was often some light entertainment like a singer, saxophonist, or a duo. They were all really good. The entertainment at the hotel is very low key so if you are into the big shows they don’t do them there but what there was suited us fine. The guys behind the bar and waiting around the Beach Club area were great fun and really helped to make our holiday one of the best. Antonis and his team, Zak, Olga, Giorgos, Petros, Panayiotis, and another tall dark pretty girl who’s name I didn’t get (sorry!) worked really hard to make it fun and special and we really enjoyed our time with them.
Last but not least the restaurants. We are not usually a fan of the buffet restaurants preferring a la carte but here it was the complete opposite. The food at the Blu restaurant was amazing! Not a huge selection but always beautifully cooked, well presented and delicious! In our week there nothing was repeated except for the children’s food and there was always a signature dish at lunch and dinner. The wine served there was first class too. George and his team looked after everyone brilliantly and made sure they wanted for nothing. George in particular always went that extra mile to make sure everything was as good as it could possibly be. Always ready for a chat we really looked forward to seeing him and became firm friends. After an issue we had with another restaurant which I won’t go into here, he made sure our next experience was better and went out of his way to check it had been. Thank you George, you were the best and you made our last day so much better.
A quick mention about the a la carte a bit of a rethink here maybe but I know it might be difficult when a lot of the clientele are looking for quantity rather than quality. It was early in the season and perhaps everything wasn’t quite in place but we expected a more “fine dining” experience which unfortunately didn’t happen.
In conclusion I would say this resort is up there with some of our best experiences and we will definitely go back there sometime in the future. Thank you to all of you who made this one so good.
