The hotel is located in heart of town. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and things were quiet. The place was very helpful and accommodating. We were to early for dinner so we enjoyed a beer and a cake from the cafe. The hotel is old school awesome. The way the pub was in the 50’s. The food was good for dinner. Things were well priced. The food came out at different times. Don’t expect fancy stuff but this place is great.

Had a 18th Party in the dining room Manager very helpful and accommodating while the staff were pleasant. The Pizza was great!
Located in the city centre everything is within an easy five minute walk.

A traditional Pub in historic area of Port Augusta. Friendly staff and sensible selection on menu including affordable nightly specials. Historic features have been retained and photos of the old days add interest.
Accommodation also available. Caters well for family groups.

Run down is the correct description. Stains and paint missing off the walls. Old dirty carpet and not real clean. The bed was as ok and we slept fairly well. There is nowhere to unpack. There's a couple of hooks for your towels and an old TV cabinet to put the bag on. No hangers and no drawers. There is a tall bar table and 2 stools, although we had this covered in clothes and other stuff. The TV had terrible reception that made watching the news impossible. It got better later in the evening. It had the smallest bathroom ever with a half sized door. I had to turn sideways to walk through. My knees touched the shower curtain when sitting on the toilet. Not sure of the local comparisons but for $10 more in Broken Hill, the room and bathroom are twice the size and clean. The bar and staff were great and the bistro was good value.

This was probably once a lovely hotel but it has been let go. The room is not clean - dirt around the air vent and dirty smear marks on the walls around the light switch (switch adjacent to the door),on the bathroom wall and on the wall near the air-conditioner. The bathroom is one of those all in one units you find in a boat or caravan park and has been plonked in the room.
No extra blanket or electric blanket on the bed. The air conditioner is very very old and so noisy you cannot have it on for very long. Absolutely every word spoken across the street can be heard in a balcony room facing the side street. Side light is not fit for use the plastic covering the stem is actually broken and flaking off. When the ilght position was moved, the bulb fell out and could not be put back in. Even the Ouyen pub, which is very basic, was cheaper and cleaner than this room.
Also pepper sauce gravy was tasteless. Was not advised on accessing the free wi-fi by staff. Only about 8 or 9 parks available behind the pub so on a booked out night you will have to park in the street but, as the staff person informed me, there is CCTV in the road adjacent to the pub and also on commercial st where the pub is located.
