Booked a hotel room for the night for the purposes of visiting sovereign hill xmas in July show with a friend & our two babies. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a gorgeous spacious 2bedroom family room & with cot supplied. We enjoyed a tasty continental breakfast in the lovely dining room the following morning. Highly recommend this place! Very accommodating for families.

This is an old building converted to a hotel. Rooms are small but very well appointed. Hotel is modern but retains a lot of the old charm. Good position close to city centre, with an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Recommended.

Room Tip: Try ground floor as there are no lifts and you have to use stairs.

An old buidling with a lovely central atrium and large rooms, high ceilings.

Under new management for a couple of week. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Included continental breakfast was not extravagent, but definitely okay.

Very convenient location, short walk to main street, few blocks to the railway station. Very close to the Art Gallery and Mining Museum.

Close to many good restaurants.

I’ll be back!

Room Tip: Ground floor more accessible.

Thank you for your feedback, we have since extended our offerings for our complimentary continental breakfast which is now served in our breakfast room. As mentioned the property was under new management we have a lot of projects happening to make our guests stay more enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you again and showing you the refreshments that have been made.

Stayed one night here for a visit to the Art Gallery the next day. Clean, quiet, a very comfortable bed and so close to the centre of Ballarat. Breakfast was included-orange juice, tea, coffee, herbal tea, two choices of cereal (cornflakes and Nutrigrain), fresh fruit and toast (white, wholegrain and fruit loaf). The bath/shower tap was a challenge to work out as no instructions are given but we learnt later that you put the water on THEN pull the knob on the small panel above the bath. The carpet in the Library/breakfast room needed a vacumn and the carpet on the stairs definitely needed a thorough clean. New management had been in for only 2 weeks so hopefully these small things which add so much to presentation and first impressions will be attended to.

Room Tip: First floor has natural light and is quiet.

Thank you for your review, as mentioned the property in under new management and the small issues that have haven mentioned are in the process of being done. We have some painting works starting next week along with the carpet on the stairs to be replaced. I understand that the water system is a bit tricky however we are pudding instructions in the room. I am glad you had a wonderful time in Ballarat.

Stayed two nights here, chosen because of the price.
The room was ok but could definitely be improved. The lobby and rooms had a strong smell and there are no out door windows so couldn’t open for fresh air.
Bed was comfy but shower started hot and would go cold so had to keep turning up the heat.
If we returned to Ballarat we would stay somewhere else
