this restaurant has a fabulous menu. If you want a great serving size and a juicy steak...this is for you. The atmosphere is very warm and cosy with sandstone bricks and a log fire.

From the moment we drove up to this venue, we knew it was going to be amazing.
We were early and so we were invited to have pre dinner drinks in a fabulously quirky reception room with winged armchairs and fireplace.
Our meal was divine, that's all I can say , we had a magical night . Thank you restaurant 88.

In addition to our recent very positive review of our recent 4-day stay at The Convent Hunter Valley hotel, their in-house restaurant ('88'), only available to hotel guests, and only on Wednesday and Thursday nights, was simply superb! The Chef (also the Sous Chef at the public 'Circa 1886' restaurant within the same hotel complex), presented several sumptuous dishes different from those served at 'Circa 1886' from Friday to Tuesday nights. We were not 'overwhelmed' by 'Circa 1886' (price vs diversity and quantity), but we were very impressed with the offerings at '88', and significantly cheaper. Well done Chef, and also especially the waiter staff on duty on 5 April 2018, who was superb. 5 stars from us. John & Meryl

We visited here as part of a Day Tour of the Hunter Valley Vineyards. The staff were able to expertly discuss the wines which accompanied our lunch which interested us very much. Food was also good and the view through long glass windows very pleasant.
