Description: This ultra-popular restaurant (especially with locals who love a long lunch here) serves appetising Mediterranean meals in a relaxed, inviting space. It has a great outdoor courtyard, surrounded by wisteria, with tables shaded by large umbrellas and inside there’s a huge open fireplace in the centre of the room, surrounded by crisp, white-clothed tables and indoor gardens. Owner/chef Andy Wright offers a seasonal menu using the best Australian produce with regulars returning for popular á la carte dishes like pan-fried barramundi and eight-hour slow-braised Milly Hill lamb or the signature dish – whole suckling pig roast (48 hours’ notice required).

we came for dessert and it was lovely. This restuarant is in the heart of Hunter Valley Gardens with a cosy fire burning in the middle of the sandstone restaurant. A lovely atmosphere

Stopped here for lunch. The restaurant was nice & warm inside. I had a steak for lunch which I enjoyed immensely. The staff were very friendly & informative. A great place to stop off for lunch during a visit to the Hunter Valley.

My husband chose this restaurant from Trip Advisor reviews and it did not disapoint. The duck deserves its reputation and my lamb rump was red and delicious. Was very surprised to receive dessert with a candle and "happy birthday" in chocolate display across the plate

We were staying up the Valley for a few days and we had to go back to one of our old favourite restaurants in the Cellar.

Again we were not disappointed although the have taken the Lamb off the main menu but the Chicken was excellent and very tasty. Love the side dishes in the Hierloom Tomotoes, the Beans and Fries.

They had the fire going in the middle of the room which made it very pleasant for a winters day.

Service was top notch and can't wait to return for another meal, just hope it won't be as long a wait as last time.

Went there with the family for a birthday. Food and atmosphere were great. I had the lambs liver, done very nicely. Definitely go again.
