A lovely restaurant to visit with groups. A delicious menu to share tapas style with an awesome bar.

Booked for a Friday night after driving up from Sydney to stay for the weekend for an event.

Parking was easy and we were sat in a smaller area which was mostly couples and groups of four.

Within minutes of sitting we were asked if we were ready to order. We had to ask for some time to look at the drinks list.

The waitress then didn’t appear for ages so after getting someone’s attention we ordered both drinks and the plates.

This is a tapas and IME normally tapas will come a few plates at a time. We ordered 4 in total. Kingfish carpaccio, fried cauliflower, octopus and arancini ball. Thinking we may get 2 at a time. The kingfish and the arancini balls came within minutes of ordering, the cauliflower and octopus shortly later. The drinks arrived after we had almost finished eating. Total time from ordering to meal com0etin 15 minutes because the hot dishes were quickly getting cold. It also meant you don’t get to enjoy the flavours of each dish.

I felt it was overpriced for what we got. $16 for 6 small pieces of cauliflower, $16 for 3 arancini balls (how do you divide 3 by 2??) yes we knew there were 3 but did expect they would be slightly larger so as one could be cut in half.

Still hungry we ordered potato chips with truffle (no truffle flavour at all) $8 so I think again over priced . The fires were well cooked and seasoned.

In less than 40 minutes we had ordered, eaten, reordered (took a 15 minute break before ordering the fries as we couldn’t get service) paid and left.

So while the food quality was excellent I found it to be overpriced for what they are serving. You don’t get time to enjoy it though as everything comes at once.

Tips: if you are happy with the price then order your drinks well ahead, wait then order one or two dishes, wait then order again.

I felt as though I was in a fast food place where turnover was the key.

Would I return, for the food yes. But really they need to think about speed of service. There’s a balance of too fast and too slow. If it’s slow because you are waiting to order then bring meals quickly doesn’t really work.

Stumbled upon this place by accident whilst trying to find nice food and relaxed atmosphere for a night out with friends.
Service was great even though it was pretty busy, and every dish was well presented and tasty.
Waitstaff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, even to the point of finding a table away from the door on a chilly winter’s night.
Wine selection was extensive and the cocktails were delicious.
Recorded upbeat music was playing the whole time which we enjoyed, and it added a nice energy to the venue.
Art Deco inspired vibes throughout and warm lighting created a cosy atmosphere.
Would definitely come here again.

We arrived on a busy long weekend Sunday at the end of lunchtime rush, the staff were extremely unhelpful and did not want to take our order from us. The waitress' excuse was we've been really busy... it's a long weekend in the Hunter, of course it's going to be busy there's no need for despicable customer service.

They then brought all the pizza's and one lot of chips to us cold, and when asked to bring our remaining 2 bowls of chips to us hot the waitress put her fingers in the bowl to test if I was actually telling the truth about the chips being cold. Her fingers in the food! Just disgusting.

This Bar needs to be included in your itinerary if you are visiting or living in the Hunter Valley.

The atmosphere is great and consistent over my four visits this month.

The cocktail list is impressive even for me an 80's die hard Cocktail girl..... they can make cocktails not listed at your request. Ben the Bar Manager is a darling although he was concerned when I requested a "fluffy duck"!!!

Great Wine List too, Open all day every day from 11.00 to 11.00

Thank Lisa M
