Cannot fault our stay at the Sofitel. The staff were friendly and the small touches after room services were a nice little surprise. The manager hosted an Accor wine/cheese hour and he was more than accomodating and friendly. Good work.

Quiet location & yet very handy to all tourist attractions.
Staff are all very friendly & helpful.
Room is very nice, clean & spacious.
Had breakfast at cafe, food was ok though could see understaffed.
The club lounge was very ordinary so only utilised it once during the 5 day stay.

This is a nice hotel in a very handy central location close to all the activities of Queenstown. Easy stroll to restaurants, gondola, the lake etc. Room was clean and nice. We had a back room with only a view to the street at the back. Next time I would pay for a room at the front. Wifi worked well and the staff were all very friendly. Bathroom was great with a deep relaxing bath with a tv in the wall if that's your thing. We stayed as a family for only a few days. With only one child this room was fine for a few days, although for a longer period an apartment is a better option.

Room tip: Front rooms would be a better option, although our back room was very quiet.

We stayed at the Sofitel during January, high season, and were very pleased. terrific staff, well run, very clean, more of a boutique, wonderful location in town a few blocks from the water. The windows and door on balcony do open but the glass is sound-proof to keep noise out of the room. Also, black-out curtains helped a great deal, particularly in the summer when the nighttime hours are shorter.
Hotel restaurants on the first and second floor are quite good as is the bar and lounge on the first floor. Note if you go into lounge next to the bar and if musicians are playing suggest you go completely into bar lounge and you can find a smaller room with a glass wall and door that is quieter if you wish to talk.
The beds are quite good as is the TV and all the plugs, electronics, etc. Very well equipped and seemingly designed in a European model in terms of set up and design.
Highly recommended with no reservations at all.

Room tip: Go for a view of the city and close the windows and door to cut down noise.
