We have stayed here a couple of times over the last two years. Always friendly service and flexibility over checking out. Good to have off street parking even if it’s a bit of a squeeze. Nothing to complain about and we’ll stay again.

Brendan runs a great operation in a central location - friendly and helpful owner, comfortable and spacious rooms, ongoing upgrades to premises to ensure all at a good standard. Couple of glitches (e.g. the landline didn't work in one room) but Brendan and staff went the extra mile/kilometre to ensure felt welcome and had what needed. Ended up staying twice in one trip (coming and going) and both rooms good. Plenty of hot water with high-pressure shower, best beds have slept in (can't abide the standard hard mattress even "high class" hotels use), well equipped kitchenette.First Breakfast materials supplied as is daily paper if wanted. Laundry available and ashtrays for us smokers out on the balconies (where the steady Dunedin breeze blows away any smells that might upset non-smokers!) Bus service within metres/yards, and easy walk to the Octagon for those who enjoy a stroll.

HOWEVER: if you have limited mobility make sure to advise this in advance as no elevator/lift so need ground floor and a room which has "grab bars" for getting into and out of shower. I coped, but not fun, but rest of experience so good have rated as excellent anyway. Thanks Brendan and Staff.

Room tip: See comment on mobility access above. Rooms remarkably quiet consiering high traffic road.

We booked a one bedroom apartment for our 2 night stay in Dunedin. The motel is a comfortable 15-20 minute walk to the town centre and the Octagon, but it is on the main road so it was quite noisy. Our bed was comfortable and we had a spacious living area with a well equipped kitchenette and a small bathroom. Our room rate included breakfast for the first night - milk, cereal, bread, yoghurt, butter and jam - and a daily newspaper. The premium WiFi was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Thanks to Brendan for helping with local knowledge, directions, and operating the washing machine for us etc. We really enjoyed our stay and if we are ever in Dunedin again, then we will probably try to stay with you.

The good points:

- clean and comfortable.
- 15 minutes walk to the centre.
- More "extras" that most other places (milk, bread, eggs, butter, yoghurt, daily paper, free laundry)
- Helpful manager (Brendon)

The less good points:

- The motel is on the main road and can be noisy - I suspect that as it is the in University area it could possibly be a problem.
- The rooms are on the smallish side.
- The main problem though is that the whole place is looking tired, An attempt has been made to update it but that would appear to have been some years ago and the original style can still be seen.
- Whilst technically true that there is a separate toilet the fact that it is in the bathroom with a door on does not make it separate in my book.
