Lots of olde world charm in this place with the usual historic buildings and vehicles - school house, bakery, printery, theatres, post office and telephone exchange. Don't miss the Hall of Flame with its extensive display of fire appliances, including one for the children with dress-up to match. Rides include a steam train, rail car, trams and buses. Other displays feature photography, agriculture, friendly societies, aircraft and model railway. Something for everyone of all ages!! Not totally wheel-chair friendly in all areas.

We took the grandkids here. They loved it all. They were able to try things out and ride the mini fire engine complete with kids fire outfits. The steam train was running which was a highlight. Also the old movie theatre was operating. The school had a teacher and children role playing in period costume. Definitely worth a visit. Take your lunch and have a picnic.

Really enjoyed it here, there was so much to see and do. Would definitely recommend it to families, however a lot of it is outdoors, so not ideal for a rainy day!

Had a great time with my girlfriend here, it was during the week so it was very quiet, it truly did feel like we were the only ones back in time. Lots of the houses were wide open you can go to every room and explore. It was as if we were living with the people of Christchurch during the titanic era.
