This Hotel as everyone knows is an Icon of Melbourne, it is one of the most charming hotels I have stayed in. When you walk into the Foyer you can feel the history of this place, not only by the decor but also the ambience. It makes you feel most welcome.
When we went up to our room, which was on the 1st Floor, we noticed an odour in the Corridor, I put this down to the age of the building, although it was a little unpleasant, it was not overbearing.
Our room was huge and spotlessly clean, bathroom was the same, the view from our room was the beautiful canvas of a Brick wall over an Alleyway, as it was only 1 night I did not mind. The huge bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. the only thing that was disappointing was that, because we had the windows opened, we heard the many empty bottles chucked into the dumpers underneath our window and the very early Rubbish Trucks the next morning.
Overall though, a very pleasant stay and we will be back, just not on the 1st floor.More
