Booked here last minute, check in was fast and staff were nice.rooms were clean and beds were comfy had a good sleep. Have stayed here many times and will stay many more times. Traffic could still be heard but didnt bother us
This was an outstanding hotel in which to stay. Apart from the slightly chaotic breakfast arrangements everything else was fantastic. The Adelaide Oval is a simple bus ride away and the hotel looks over South park. Stunning. The reception staff are particularly helpful and highly knowledgeable. In knowing where everything is. Special mention must be made of Kanchana who booked me in on an internal flight and knew here way round the systems. Thank you
Stayed here for 10 days during the ashes tests in Adelaide.Rooms comfortable with good room service.Didn't eat in restaurant so can't comment.Roof top bar very welcoming, be aware can be booked for private functions.
Stayed here for buisness. Food ok and service ok. Room stayed in needs up date. Issue with balcony door not locking, room stayed in noisy but other rooms might be quieter . Ok place to stay. Bit difficult to get taxi, wait was a long time in the morning.
Although we weren't in Adelaide for the Ashes Cricket, this was the only hotel our Travel Agent could get as the whole city was booked out. It was double the usual price at the time, but we were meeting up with friends and had no choice on travel dates. There are no shops, restaurants or bars nearby other than the Elephant & Castle, which is a typical Aussie corner pub.The room decor is tired and worn, as are the sheets and towels. The traffic noise is really loud as the hotel is located on the corner of a major intersection. Although it was very quiet on the other side of the road as that is where the biggest cemetery you have ever seen is located! If you get the white sink plug and the complimentary soap mixed up you'll never know the difference as you will get just as much lather out of both. The shower is over the bath with no hand rail and my friend slipped and fell on the first day. It is also like standing in a canoe to shower as the bath has a curved bottom and sides. This set-up is dangerous for elderly folk and for those that have had too many wines. The upstairs restaurant/bar was understaffed and the staff were inexperienced. There is a lovely view from the 6th floor restaurant, but the meal wasn't worth the view. Unfortunately we were booked in for four nights, and on our last night when we returned to our room at 6pm it had not been serviced! We had to get clean towels bought up by the Reception staff. The Reception staff were friendly and the man that drives the complimentary shuttle (only available from 7am-10am) was very helpful and friendly. We would not stay at this hotel again.
Absolutely atrocious service.. things weren't explained properly beforehand then we were turned away .. another guest was also complaining when we arrived.. would recommend you stay at the arkaba or Stamford plaza
