We booked the shuttle to take us from our hotel to the airport. They had still not arrived 20 minutes after we were told so I called the mobile number given on the message service. The driver answered and told me he would be there in five minutes and hung up on me. He wasn’t there in five minutes. I rang back to tell them not to collect us as I was unhappy with the service (extremely rude and late) and he told me he was coming in five minutes and that if he was late “it’s your problem not mine!”.
I have sent multiple emails and tried to contact the office with no response. I can not understand how a tourism based business can still be operating with service and staff like this.
It’s also cheaper to take a taxi in most circumstances. Even if you’re alone it’s not much more expensive and definitely worth the few dollars extra.
So sorry to hear you have had a bad experience, unfortunately we have no record of your travel with us so if you could contact us with more information so we can follow this up and find out who is involved, otherwise we could think you are trying to promote the Taxi Industry!!
If you are traveling alone it is cheaper than a taxi but much slower: in my case an hour vs 15 minutes for a taxi. And if there are at least two of you it is much cheaper to take a taxi.
Slow to load at airport, Rude driver (particularly to older slower passengers). Bad and unsafe driving to hotel, overpriced compared to Taxi. Returned to airport by Taxi as they never showed up at the Hotel, even after booking 24hours ahead and calling an hour beforehand. Stay away.

The only negative in our case anyway, wouldn't think this happens all the time, is that the booth inside the terminal which should have been attended by staff was not, so everybody who hadn't pre organised their ticket had to purchase from the driver, who first had to take the card/cash then write a receipt if a return journey then take the baggage, and as it was a full bus, this took about 20 mins. Just about everybody HAD NOT pre purchased!!! We paid $50 return, think I may have had a concession included there, so don't quote me, but once we were underway it was an interesting journey, saw a lot of Darwin as people were dropped off at different hotels/places along the way. Our return journey pickup was right on time too, even collected a person looking very frazzled who was waiting kerbside for a taxi who hadn't come to collect her, so our bus was very reliable. Cant imagine why anybody would have cause to write a bad review as one tripadvisor eluded to!
We were a bit worried about using this as there were several bad reviews but decided to chance it. It cost $50 return for the 2 of us. I booked the return 3 days before to ensure we got the time we wanted. It arrived 10 minutes early and it all went well. The driver told us that as long as you book at least 24 hours before all should go well.
Newly arrived in Darwin, we had no idea of how we were going to get into town. There, right near the carousel, was the desk for the shuttle service. The information provided was excellent which enabled us to make a decision between taking a taxi (on a public holiday) and the shuttle service. For two of us, with a return, cost us just $50.
The bus driver was pleasant and informative and we were dropped right at the front door of our accommodation. The bus route is tailored to the passengers.
