I'm not sure how this garnered such high reviews. Both gaps are very brief stops if you're driving that way but aren't worth visiting otherwise. The rock art was not as good as elsewhere (kust red and white stripes), and you're not able to photograph them. Both sites had infinitesimal numbers of flies that wouldn't leave us alone. Simpson Gap was much better.

Great little drive to the East of Alice. A short walk up the Gaps. Not as good as the west but still a great drive.

My wife & I stopped at the 2 locations for a short break on the way from Alice Springs to Ross River Resort. They wouldn't be worth a visit in themselves, as there are no significant facilities but they are very pleasant breaks on a fairly long journey, especially when it's hot!

what a great experience we had at the Gaps, nice and quite, relaxing picnic in the creek beds, prolific bird life up in the rocks. lots of lizards around when you look hard. Aboriginal art work was surprisingly good and study. a quiet retreat from the tourist peak

Both Emily Gap and Jessie Gap are breaks in the Heavitree Range about 15 kms east of Alice Springs.
Both contain large spiritual significance for the local Arrernte people and both contain rock paintings depicting the caterpillar dreaming story.
Both areas have ample parking, toilets and, I believe can do guided tours.
Allow maybe 1/2 hour for the short walk into the gap.
