Really unique and worthwhile experience with knowledgeable and professional staff. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great the first couple of days we had booked so those flights were cancelled but third time lucky! It's an early start and it was absolutely freezing while waiting but warmer once in the air. Duncan, pilot, was a fun character and gave us plenty of information and history throughout the morning. Don't bother taking handbags or extra stuff because you can't take it on the flight. Definitely no scarves or anything around your neck. I took my phone (camera) and credit card and plenty of warm clothes. Light snacks and juice/ champagne is provided afterwards. Great morning and stunning way to see the sun rise!

We had a good trip great sunrise took lots of photos, but the landing did not go well basket tipped over with a great thud leaving lots of people with sore necks and backs including both of us. The staff were great breakfast and drinks was ok.
Would we do it again "No"

We are sorry that a small bump on landing appears to have coloured your review of the whole morning – which you obviously enjoyed. The landing was a little faster than normal in Alice Springs but still 100% safe. In fact, most passengers feel such a landing is a real highlight and adds a bit of excitement to the overwhelmingly gentle soft adventure ballooning experience.
I have spoken with the pilot and crew and they explained on this particular morning there was a small ditch hidden in the grass which resulted in the landing being slightly more bumpy than usual.
Ballooning is so different from any other form of travel it needs to be experienced at least once but we do get many customers who have flown elsewhere. We have had comments from them that Alice Springs provides a great safe experience but still an adventure that may be enjoyed by everyone.

A spectacular way to watch sunrise over the West MacDonnell Ranges. A well organised activity including hotel pick up and drop off and a champagne breakfast (home by around 9.30am)

Enjoyed a 30 min plus trip with a full basket of 24 people across southern Alice Springs with great views of the Western Macs. Was warmer up in air than on ground, but still needed to rug up a bit. Where clothes you are happy to get dirty as you help to fold up the balloon at end and usually on dusty area.

I booked the one hour flight but unfortunately they could not get the number and I was sorely disappointed with the 30 minutes flight. From the comments I read, this was not isolated and perhaps this company should not offer the 60 minutes if they cannot get the customers.

In saying that though, the 30 minutes was quite adequate in getting a feel for ballooning and the landscape. Not sure what the extra 30 minutes may add, but I was quite satisfied with the 30 minutes. The guides and pilot were friendly and helpful and had a cheery disposition required for this line of work.

I'd recommend the 30 minutes. As I said, better to go 30 than to risk 60 which may add nothing and disappoint when not enough people join.
