Run by young students, left standing at the bar with large suitcases to be ignored as reception for hotel is now over the road. The food was just ok but took almost an hour for a ploughmans lunch to come out. 2130 must be shift end and 2 young lads singing and being really rowdy as we were eating. Just unprofessional, previously stayed here 3 times over the years and was amazing. Wont be staying again
Excellent stay, wonderful staff, delicious food, wouldn't hesitate to stay again and already planning too,perfect base from.which to explore the New Forest, particularly the coastal areas near Hythe , thank you Pedro and his marvellous team.
The room was messy when I arrived and the restaurant was no better. Sat down for a nice meal only for it to be over priced, mediocre and took a ridiculous amount of time to come out. The drinks were careless and the pub just looked dull. Wont be staying or eating here again.
The food was amazing and lovey staff thank you to the head chef Nathan for beautiful food poped in for lunch today with my brothers and ordered a club sandwich and I can say best club sandwich I’ve ever eaten thank you for a lovely time definitely going back
Stayed in March with my daughter in the Twin bedroom for 3 nights, b&b.
On arriving the check in was smooth and we were shown our room. Ground floor, first impressions were great especially the bathroom. However, when unpacking it became apparent that the cleaning was not up to scratch and in fact the wall next to the bed and radiator was covered in thick dust, the drawers had not been cleaned out and were dirty with hair and other detritus and there were multiple 'hairs' on the bathroom floor.
These particular issues were rectified quickly, but it did make me feel as if the room should have been more thoroughly cleaned before we arrived.
Another negative for me were the pillows which were very flat and thin. It's a shame as the duvet was clearly feather filled and it would have been a much better experience had the pillows been newer/fuller.
The massive positive however, was the service! As mentioned check in was easy, breakfasts were plentiful and delicious and bar staff very helpful.
I would stay again for sure, but would suggest more thorough cleaning and checking thereof and new pillows for that room! :)
