I'm fully aware that pubs in the UK are having to endure hectic overheads at the moment and I'm very glad to support them in this cost of living crisis, but I draw the line when, I the customer, is ripped-off in order for management to please the executives at Fullers. My visit all started well with a pint of the Dark Side American Pale Ale - highly recommend this beer! Then I ordered two 'Fuller's London Porter Smoked Salmon & King Prawn Linguines' at £17, from the Specials Board. Within 5 mins the two dishes arrived and my immediate reaction was they're starter portions! I then started to count the ingredients: 3 prawns, 2 flakes of pre-heated salmon and 2 yellow baby tomatoes. I took the two plates to the manager and asked him if these two servings were worth £34? He just shrugged his shoulders and said the portion sizes are a directive from Fullers HQ, as if I'm supposed to believe that the Chef has been instructed to serve meals through an item-by-itme policy of strict measurent and control. If this pubs wants to save money it should consider turning the heating down, which was unbearable, and switch-off half the lights which were moslty decorative and offered no function at all. My friend and I, will no longer support this pub and go elsewhere from now on.
