Was on holiday in the area with friends so us 2 guys decided to take the opportunity for a game of golf in Portugal.
Decided on Pinhall as reasonable cost with reasonable reports. Booked it all up before we went away including club hire at 20 Euros per set.
We booked a 8-00 tee time as thought would be more enjoyable in the morning weather so arrived about 7-00 so place was just waking up. This wasn't a problem as went into club shop decided to have electric trolley instead of a buggy as you get a better feel of the course, these were 15 euros each. Clubs were of reasonable quality and quite acceptable after a small bucket of balls on the driving range we ventured onto the 1st tee had a starter but as early we got off without waiting all very chilled. Course was in good condition they obviously have to use a lot of water on both fairways and greens. Not a lot of water on any hole but a lot of trees. We had an enjoyable round and definitely a good experience, would like to go on a golfing holiday to Portugal maybe one day.
One word of advice it's worth booking before you leave the UK as seemed to be a lot busier when we finished.

Disgraceful and dismal customer experience from arrival to departure ....

We arrived 40 minutes early and were expecting a relaxed start to our day ...... this was not to be;

We found the Pro Shop registration staff very rude ...they wouldn't assist with buggy hire and repeated their mantra that we could only hire 2 buggies (although my party of 20 golfers had pre booked golf over 8 months ago - surely no surprise that we were coming ??).

We asked when other buggies were due back from the course - not an unreasonable request we thought (as apparently 'they we all out on the course' apart from the 2 on offer), the reception staff stated that they had no idea when they would be back !!

Crazy when we were ready, willing and keen to pre book and spend some 400 Euros on buggies !!! (FYI - Dom Pedro will not allow pre booking of buggies any more)

It took several visits back to the pro shop before we were offered the required buggies (which magically appeared after demanding to see the manager). All within minutes to our first tee time. .... not a good start to the round.

Finally - just to completely ruin the experience, we were then advised that we all needed to be back to the club house and off the course for 7.30pm for the return transport to our hotel ..... quite a task when our last tee was close to 4pm ! (Transfers to our hotel were included within our booking - no surprise, the pro shop staff were most unhelpful and we had to order and pay for taxis in the end).

We wrote to the club and complained - a response was received with no apology at all, simply a 'thank you' for letting them know of our displeasure.

Take our advice and avoid this club at all costs !

A very pleasant course part of the group of 5 local Vilamoura courses owned by Dom Pedro. Whilst I’d be more likely to play a few of other courses in Vilamoura before this one it is nonetheless a very enjoyable course to play and if you stay at the Hilton by far the most convenient one! In terms of booking a round at the course we got a significantly better price through one of the Vilamoura golf booking agencies than we did through booking via the hotel.

A tour party of 28 descended on Pinhal for an afternoons golf. In the past buggies have been pre booked however in the new era of the Dom Pedro golf monopoly this is no longer possible.
Upon arrival we tried to book the buggies. We were told to come back 10 minutes b4 our tee
time and that they could not guarantee
availability.
We returned, only half the buggies were available, this is unacceptable when you fly all this way to play golf to be told 10 minutes before half the party will have to walk. No ice or water supplied in the buggy another DP saving.
The tee off times I believe are now 7 minutes apart, this has lead to the course being packed with golfers, 15 minute wait on some Tees and over 5 1/2 hours for a round that should take maybe 4 in a buggy, a complete joke and a money making exercise by DP. They are trying to maximise cash at the expense of people having an enjoyable round. This is also dangerous as the course has several blind shots and balls are flying everywhere. A knock on effect is Tees and green quality is poor due to increased traffic.
Avoid this course like the plague if you want to have a relaxing round.
Only plus points are the food and drink selection is ok

A good course but when you put it up against Vale De Lobo, Victoria, Old Course, Quinta De Lago etc it is not great. A bit scruffy too. No proper buggy paths and lots of jolts going over tree roots, dips, pot holes etc.
