Visited for a bar meal and judging all four meals we purchased. Lamb Ribs nice but small serve, 2 pizzas average for the price, steak sandwich very good. Prices average and next time will try the main restaurant. Drinks service and range good and slightly above average prices but the atmosphere makes up for any shortcomings.

Room Tip: Only visited the restaurant/bar

Hi Alan D,

Thanks for your recent visit to the bar for a meal. Our bar snacks is a limited menu and if you are after something a little more extensive, then we do recommend our restaurant or garden.

It is great to know that you enjoyed the atmosphere and time with us - we look forward to seeing you back again soon.

Myself and my mother had to travel with my 1 year old twin boys for a wedding up in the Valley. It is a 2.5hr trip from where we live and the interruption to the boys sleep routine was a major concern of mine. I rang the hotel last minute on the off chance that we might be able to check in earlier than the 2pm time allocated. Both Lucy and Cathy were so accommodating and understanding with all my booking queries and didn't hesitate to put my request into action. We arrived to an awesome room that was very clean and comfortable and they even offered us a later checkout! Which when it takes an hour to load a car full of the babies things- was so greatly appreciated. oh and the breakfast!!! Talk about delicious! best hot brekky we have had in a while =D thank you so much to Cathy, Lucy and the rest of the staff for making our stay such an comfortable one. we will definitely be coming back to stay again when we are up that way. Cheers =)

It was suggested by my dad to try the Rose & Crown for a stopover . No disappointment!
The service from both Hotel, front of house, and restaurant was top notch. Kudos to the talented chef and his team who obviously operate with proficiency as the food put out in this very busy restaurant, was prompt, scrumptious and very satisfying. No wonder its popularity even for a Monday night.
Our waitress, Maria was so down to earth, attentive, accomodating with a beautiful smile-just what you need when you are tired. The manager topped it off with a little humour, even under pressure!
Thanks Rose and Crown ...you definitely have the formula for a place worth staying at.

Recommended by our tour guide who dropped us off after our morning tour of the Swan Valley. Fantastic historic venue with a large Beer Garden. Great menu and food and good range of mainstream and craft beers and local wines. Nice place to enjoy a long lunch. Was quite busy on a weekday so can imagine it getting busy on weekends. A short walk to East Guildford Railway station with regular services to Perth.

This is a really lovely pub on a gorgeous street in Guildford. We are regularly in the neighbourhood so I know it gets busy, and this Sunday lunch service was no exception.

When we arrived the fire was roaring and the room was cosy. We were given a great table with lots of room around us (very useful with two little ones). There were lots of families out for a relaxing lunch so it was nice that they set out some activity pads for the kids to enjoy.

The table ordered beef cheek, the smoky parmi, the salad of the day, the catch of the day, and the roast of the day.

Everyone enjoyed their meals. The servings for the roast are enormous ; two big slices of meat, three or four roast potatoes, sweet pumpkin, a gorgeous cauliflower cheese, broccolini and a yorkshire pudding. My only comment would be that there needed to be more gravy. Other than that, perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meals and service was really great ; fast and friendly. The fish of the day was tasty and was served with asparagus. The beef cheeks were silky and fell apart to touch ; absolutely perfect.

One comment though ; the garlic bread is $3 per slice. This is, in my opinion, ridiculous when you can buy a whole packet readymade for $3.75 or make your own ie a dozen slices for about $5 (bread, butter, three cloves of garlic and a sprig of parsley plus electricity). I am not a cheapskate, but that was just OTT for a slice.

All in all a great place for lunch.
