A family get together brought us to this area. As there was not enough space for everyone, we volunteered to camp at the local Diamond Waters Caravan Park without knowing much about it. It has a full time community and lovely grassed camping section which goes right down to the waters edge. We turned up late as our flight was late but the Camp Managers had stayed there for us and made sure that we had the pick of the sites and checked that we would be okay (camping very minimally as we flew from Melbourne) and provided a fire pit and wood to make a cool evening very nice. The campsite is very clean with all the rubbish bins emptied every day. The showers and toilets were also very clean and there were plenty of them. There was a roofed camp kitchen/bbq area for people like us who were carrying minimum cooking stuff. We were also given lots of information about the local area which kept us busy and the rels arrived..
Not more than 3kms away is Laurieton which is the centre of the area. In the main street is Delizioso Italian Restaurant which provides superb food and gets very good reviews in Tripadvisors food section.
Altogether, our trip was a great success for a long weekend. Would recommend this to any caravaners, camper trailers or tent campersMore
