We wanted to see the Sacred Well, in the center of town, when we arrived it was all locked up so we decided to go the Museum. This turned out to be a little gem, after learning a lot about Sardinian history we were taken to back to the well and then to see the paneling from the church of St george. It was a truly personal experience, pretty much a guided tour. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and it was great value. So go there and don't miss out.

if you don't know much about Sardinia history ( and let's face it, if you are a foreigner like me, you won't either), this is the perfect place to start.
Starting from pre historic time all the way to the 20th century, this very large musem is rich in display and bilingual explanation ( Italian and English).
This is well worth a visit. You can also combine a visit with the tour of the sacred font in the village centre (Nuraghic time) and the retablo . I recommend them both if you are into archeology and art. Even if you are not as you may well be converted ;-)
The retablo has blown the mind of well travelled friends of mind that justly stated it was the best they had ever seen. (In fact, it is the second biggest in Sardinia and is truly beautiful).
So whilst from the outside, this museum doesn't look like much, once inside, there is much to enjoy and learn. I always recommend it to our villa guests.
