I booked a 40th birthday here in January in their private 'Chart Room'. I couldn't have asked for more. Lauren, the supervisor looked after me and my ambitious plans from beginning to end. She always remembered everything discussed at consultations, she was so organised, thought about every last detail and was a pleasure to have around on the night too. It was quite stressful making sure everything went ok and Lauren took the pressure off me as much as she could. Can't thank her (and the team on the night) enough

We booked for a special occassion And they never let us down,we all had a wounderfull meal .And the staff were very attentive in the back ground but ready when needed , well done to you all. The Navigator would be a great place for a wedding reception.A must for a visit for a drink or a first class meal.

We stayed there for Valentine's we couldn't believe the deal a four course meal. Red rose box of Belgium chocs and a bottle of bubbles a stay over with full English chucked in all for an amazing 149 .... We were naturally sceptical . We didn't need to be we had a wonderful time from the service to the food to the setting to the room all delivered over our expectations. Well done guys you all worked so hard what a lovely bunch you all are too. We won't talk about the alarm going off it was a minor amusement and no big deal x keep doing what you are ... Ps the cocktails were awseome xxx

I booked my room on the River Hamble central to Titchfield to visit old friends there. The Navigator was a welcoming destination. The staff were attentive at my late arrival providing a delicious meal.

Room tip: Rooms at the back are quieter from road noise. A corner room would be better though I did find normal living noises from other apartments carried down the corridor.

We visit The Navigator as often as we can, usually saving having a meal for a special occasion - as it is always exactly that!
Ever since the refurbishment, we cannot fault how helpful and accommodating the staff are, how relaxed, ambient and homely the atmosphere (log fires in the winter!!) is and how EXCEPTIONAL the food is. We have never had a bad meal there, if anything it just keeps getting better and excelling itself. You can tell the menu has had much careful consideration as it is always seasonal, utilising the local produce. The presentation of the dishes is always exceptional, it often feels like being in a Michelin star restaurant.

The portions are huge, well worth the money and they have always managed to accommodate my gluten free dietary requirements. My husband also appreciates the wide range of local ales and wines they have available (I'm teetotal so cannot actually comment on this aspect but he's never been disappointed!)

We have also had a party in their function room, The Chart Room and it was a great success! Such a wonderful and diverse space and everybody was so helpful and attentive. So much so, that last year our friends also used it to throw me and my husband a fantastic post-wedding party, this time with a little buffet.

I was given my own gluten-free selection of food that had been put together especially for me, and the regular buffet was a much better standard of food that is usually provided at pubs. Everybody had a wonderful time and we'll certainly be using it again.

So if you're yet to visit The Navigator, even if you're just popping in for a snack, please do as it really is one of those rare gems that just keeps getting better. It's refreshing to be in an environment where the staff cannot do enough for you and even though we've never needed to stay in the rooms (we live about five minutes away) we feel so at home there, we could quite happily move in!

Room tip: We've never stayed over but if the standard of the restaurant is anything to go by, we can certainly recommend it!

Spent all day, evening and next morning here for family 40th party. My Daughter was really impressed with staff from the word go, especially Lauren, who dealt with many aspects of our use of the function room. All staff far exceeded what I, with high standards, expected of them and nothing was too much trouble. They charge per head for the hot buffet and the food was of a high standard. It has its own bar and we had use of the gazebo as well, to use as a quiet area.
Now the bedrooms/bathrooms. Lovely Natical decor in bedrooms, but throw needed replacing, as patchy in colour. Bed lovely and firm, good quality quilt. Lighting too dark to read or for makeup application. Bathroom decor I feel lets it down as the 80s green tiles conflict with modern room. A slat missing from the blinds, two rawl plugs in tiles showing where soap dish would have been. In shower cubicle. Another guest commented that hers also had things missing. The bathrooms also have an awful yellow 'public toilet' toilet roll dispenser which also dispensed awful public toilet paper, which curiously is not used in the pub toilets. Would not have paid the full price for the rooms but as we booked most of the rooms we were charged £50.00 each, which I think is the appropriate rate. Breakfast 5 star, help yourself on everything including doing your own toast and drinks (which we prefer) except the cooked breakfast, which was of excellent quality.

Would have given this 5 star ratings but bedrooms/bathrooms are not of the same standard as the pub, which is absolutely faultless, including their toilets. All of the Navigator is absolutely spotless as well.

Room tip: Lots of noise from our party, which travelled very clearly to the outdoor rooms, which is why the Navigators website does advise potential customers of possible noise at weekends.
