We've just enjoyed a first class dinner at a very reasonable price. It was great that you could mix the Table d'hote menu with the a la carte. The wine is very well priced and our whole experience was excellent.

All the waitresses at this restaurant were warm, welcoming and friendly, especially the lady co-owner, Christiana. Bakewell is a small market town, the river walk being particularly nice, with the lazy rainbow trout to be seen! A short walk to PieDaniel's takes you to the old stone building where you enter into a bright airy modern space. A lovely glass of chilled champagne as we perused the menu. A good number of choices-I had the blue cheese souffle on Waldarf Salad, my friend had the chicken livers which he described as the best ever (even better than The Ritz, London!). Fresh baked gluten free bread was delicious! The fillet steak and pork roulade were very very good, washed down with a lovely Argentinian Malbec! Dessert was Crepes Suzette, wonderfully and properly served, this time with a golden 2008 Sauterne (very moderately priced!). A wonderful evening. Christiana spent time with everyone but Margaret was a real star too!
We will be back!

Tucked away behind the bowling green this restaurant is fantastic and no more expensive than some of the pub food in Bakewell. But so much better! Fish just fell apart delicious linen napkins and fine cutlery. Wish we had this at home would be a regular!
