We stayed in the Castle Inn for just one night and regret not staying for another.

There is a real friendly and relaxed feel to the pub, and warmth radiates from staff, regulars, and the immense roaring fireplace. We were booked in for dinner at the wonderful Bunch of Grapes just down the road so our only experience of food at the Castle Inn was breakfast which was delicious, well-presented, with generous portions.

Our bedroom was lovely but the lasting memory was the unexpectedly enormous and utterly beautiful bathroom. It may well be larger than the main bedroom. There is a classic large roll-top bath in the centre, two ornate chairs, a large double "couples" washing sink, and a massive waterfall shower (large enough for a rugby team), all this plus a magnificent window view of picturesque Bradford-on-Avon. I do not know if all the rooms have the same features but if you are looking for a truly romantic stay do request this room.

I give the Castle Inn four instead of five stars is our bedroom door lock did not work, as mentioned to the staff who sadly felt they could do nothing about it hence we had to leave our room unlocked throughout our stay. I do hope this has been resolved as we would very much wish to return.

Room Tip: Immense, beautiful bathroom - perfect for couples seeking romance

The staff are pleasant and helpful providing good service and contributing to the relaxed atmosphere even at busy times. The food is excellent and the breakfasts substantial. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again before too long.

Room Tip: Room 4 has a huge bathroom and a fabulous view

We had a fantastic stay at the Castle Inm. The room was lovely and the staff were fantastic! We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent. The half price prosecco was an added bonus! Look forward to visiting again.

This was my second stay at the Castle and it was still as delightful as ever. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful; the rooms are gorgeous; and the food is excellent. It may be an old place with a thorough refurbishment but it works so well, everything feels like it belongs and has been there for years. Candles and Timorous Beasties wallpaper, Farrow and Ball paint and reclaimed tables and chairs. There is so much atmosphere here. I've stayed in rooms 1 and 4 and both are lovely. 1 has the edge on the bedroom, 4 has the bathroom you've dreamed of for years and will just sit there on the leather arm chair pinching yourself that it's real and revelling in the views. The food is great, from breakfast through lunchtime snacks to the mains and puds, with the choice of where to eat from the low lit cosy bar to the sun trap of a garden. After a year away I was recognised by a member of staff who remembered why I'd been there last time and what I'd got up to at the time. Brilliant. Castle Inn, I love you. I'll be back.

Room Tip: Room 4 for the bathroom of your dreams

We really enjoyed our stay. Bathroom and shower are huge! The staff are young and enthusiastic. Very good choice at breakfast. Nice views over bradford. Well located for bath and plenty of nice walks nearby. The town has a good selection of restaurants.
