I went with 2 friends to eat afternoon tea at Walwick Hall. We sat in a beautiful room. It was just glorious: tranquil and very relaxing. The afternoon tea was one of the best I have eaten. The scones were to die for and the all important cream was clotted. The sandwiches and patisserie were also gorgeous. It was very difficult to tear ourselves away and come back to reality

Good Afternoon Clare

I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your Afternoon Tea with us. I will pass on your comments to our Pastry Chefs.

Maybe you will get the opportunity to have Afternoon Tea on our beautiful terrace on your next visit (weather permitting!!)?

Thank you for such a positive review.

This is a delightful place, very pleasant staff in the best of Northumberland venues. Near the Roman Wall, Hexham and Corbeidge, both fascinating places. It looks out over the Tyne Valleys. Parking easy. It is a small intimate hotel with only ten rooms. It is
Well appointed and the staff helpful

Room Tip: room at front of house would have best views

I've been twice- once called for coffee and once when we had booked lunch. Both visits were delightful: welcoming staff, beautiful hotel and good food and a very pleasant drive to get there. I look forward to going again.

Walwick Hall is a most relaxing place to stay. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and nothing is a problem. The food was excellent. We went with friends to celebrate ours and their 30th wedding anniversary.

We stayed for two nights for a wedding anniversary.
The Good:
Beautiful building, great location, beautiful views, good facilities, excellent staff, nice rooms with a great atmosphere.
The Bad
Room difficult to cool down, no air conditioning, window on the ground floor only opens about 6 inches, other windows do not open.
Restaurant only 3 stars. Small menu, great service but standard of the dishes poor and expensive for what you get.

Room Tip: a room which windows can be fully opened.
