Rocked up with a booking on the Sunday of the long weekend. We were seated very promptly and the menu was explained very well. We ordered our meals, tasty tapas style sharing plates. Pulled lamb taco, duck terrine, prosciutto, lamb meatballs, pulled pork, bruschetta, frittata, asian chicken salad, to share between 4 of us. Plenty of food, and overall quality and taste was good. The meal came with a glass of wine and a dessert and a coffee.
Desserts were delicious, the lemon verbena brulee, and the chocolate parfait. The coffee was exceptional., and i am a bit of a coffee snob.
The place was hopping, I cant believe how busy it was, the quality of the food and service was exceptional under the circumstances.
It was lovely sitting in amongst the vegetable garden and eating our meal. Great job Green Olive, and a big yell out to your staff as serving that quantity of people could not have been easy.

Looking for an informal lunch and some wine, Green Olive ticked all the boxes! We chose several selections from the tapas menu - meatballs with a delicious tomato sauce, pumpkin bruschetta, beetroot hummus and cheeses with bread and biscuits. All delicious, rustic, homemade - exactly what we wanted. To top it off, we sat in the kitchen garden amongst ripening tomatoes, zucchini and herbs. Just lovely on a warm March day. Browsed in their little shop and bought some of the tomato sauce to take home. Coffees and gluten free orange cake were all delicious. The chocolate brownie wasn’t so great - very dry and not moist at all. But that was the only disappointment to the visit.

This was our first visit to Green Olive at Red Hill and regrettably it will be our last. We were impressed with the setting but the same could not be said about the food. While the dishes we ordered were well presented, the potatoes had that reheated taste and the meatballs were dry and tough and clearly had also been reheated. The bruschetta was tasteless and presented on very thin toasted ciabatta with no garlic or basil flavour at all. The pulled pork mixture looked as though it had just been dumped on top of the bread...disappointing. Being locals we have frequented many of the other lovely wineries on the Peninsula, we thought every dish we ordered was overpriced for what it was....thankfully the wine was good.....we moved on to another winery for dessert and coffee which saved the day!

Something worth noting is that there is waiter/waitress service but only after you have placed your order inside as you would do in a pub...
