We stayed here one night on our way to the north Georgia mountains. It was farther from I-285 than I thought so we got lost on the way there but found it eventually. We received no room upgrade for our status because we were told there were no King Suites available??? The room had a old fashioned loud a/c even though the hotel is not that old! There was a shower but no tub. We bought a frozen turkey at the Kroger across the street and thawed it out in the shower for our early Thanksgiving dinner the next evening in White County! It was in a cooler, but in the shower stall. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. It's rare to have both a comfortable bed and pillows the right size and firmness. I slept very well, but I was tired after doing all the driving that day from Orlando. The wi-fi was very good but still froze some as I was trying to watch a basketball game.
Breakfast was very interesting. We have been Diamond for years and have always received a free Cooked to Order plus buffet for breads, fruits, etc. complimentarily. Hilton changed the policy in July, and now Diamonds only receive a $10 per person credit at this location. This hotel had delayed the implementation of the new policy but now were under Corporate orders to start. It was day #2!...We stayed here one night on our way to the north Georgia mountains. This hotel had delayed the implementation of the new policy but now were under Corporate orders to start. It was day #2! We were the learning curve guinea pigs! The lady on duty when we checked in was as confused as I was by the new menu options, but it turned out ok. I wanted an omelet the next morning and did learn then that I would also receive side items like potatoes and toast. Coffee is always free for everyone. My omelet was $12 or $13, but they comped everything due to how long it took the chef to make the breakfasts. As I said, they were learning. They even comped the tip, which I would have gladly paid. Everything was very yummy once we received it. I had a great breakfast. Fortunately, we were in no hurry as we had several hours to reach our destination in White County. Since we had done our grocery shopping the night before, we only had the drive ahead of us. Marsha, Mandy, and Jose were all great as was everyone on the staff that we encountered. The hotel was quiet (except the a/c unit). We had a room in the back with a wooded view of apartments or businesses behind the hotel. Once we knew where it was, the hotel was easy to locate. We were able to exit or enter off Peachtree Industrial or the other road between the hotel and Kroger. (some bridge road??) We got a great price and would definitely return if needing a place in the area. I just hope Hilton reinstates the complimentary breakfast for its top members!!!More
