“Attractive villa with rotating exhibitions”
Review of Villa Argentina

This not an 'epic attraction' but admission is free, the villa is lovely, and they host some great exhibitions. My favorite feature of the villa is the aggregate stone floors which are beautiful. Try to go when there is an exhibition, otherwise it is basically an empty house.

Very nice villa, worth a visit if your staying in varregio. There was an exhibition of black / white prints when I visited. It is also free to get in. There is a patisserie/ choclatier a few doors down . Great coffee/ rolls/cakes. We had breakfast here a few times. Really cheap and friendly staff. Gets v busy we didn't come across any other tourist just the locals when we visited.

A real gem, beautifully restored, used mainly for exhibitions. It can appear rather sparse when there is no exhibition present.

On a recent visit to Viareggio we saw an advert for an exhibition called Shifting Boundaries at the Villa Argentina so decided to go. It was well worth it. The exhibition was good but what a wonderful setting the villa made. It is only small but even without the exhibition it's well worth the visit. The staff were welcoming, the restoration work was very well done with a wonderful ballroom and fantastic floors in nearly all the rooms. As it is a small villa and does not take long to go round it is ideal for families.

It may be small, it maybe free, but this is an elegant small mansion which is well worth a visit. A very high quality restoration project has brought this 1920s villa back to its former glory, when Variaggio was at its cultural peak. The rooms are very light and airy., and the external tiling detail is beautiful, as is tthe small but faithfully restored garden.
The ballroom is epic and must surely feature in period drama for TV and Movies ?
Well worth half an hour of your holiday.
