I did like it but everything is overpriced. The restaurants, the supermarkets, the swimming pool; had to buy hats and rent towels. Restaurant was £250 for 2 adults and 4 children. The cash point outside the hotel gives you a criminal exchange rate of £1=€1.
The plastic card for the apartment snapped in my pocket and receptionist said that this was a “danno” which in Italian is a criminal offence like criminal damage or vandalism and she demanded €10 euros to replace it.
Nothing complimentary on arrival like a fruit bowl or a cheap bottle of wine like in May other resorts. Here they charge for everything and big time!! On arrival, no help with suitcases or any form of welcome; no hospitality whatsoever. The first thing they asked for was money! No ‘how was your journey’ or ‘is there anything I can do for you or your 4 children’ etc. These people just want cash and they don’t even look at you in the face. They are programmed to make money only. When we got to the apartment, there were no sheets on one of the beds and only 4 pillows for six people. So many things missing and broken and the bedding was so old and cheap. This was definitely not two star quality even though it was supposed to be four star. The resort itself is beautiful but unfortunately the people running it are just there to take as much money as they can from you without providing any service.

Stayed at this hotel with work. Massive hotel. Maybe a bit too big. After booking in it was about a half mile walk to our room. Staff were helpful and polite. A bad point our room was basement level so with the Huge snow drifts the only view we had was of a pile of snow.

Dear Customer,
thank you for choosing the Olympic village for your stay, the room you describe was given only for the snow break event, normally we only sell rooms on the upper floors of two and three rooms.
We hope to see you again in another period.

Best wishes

12 of us headed to Sestriere in February so we booked 3 apartments with 4 in each. My personal opinion is that the rooms aren't sufficient for 4 people. There's only 1 bedroom and a settee bed, which unfortunately is in the kitchen/living room/hallway where i slept , but over the week I got an average of about 3 hours sleep a night. This was due to corridor noise, not having any privacy whatsoever (the bathroom is also off this room) and the major fact that our room had no curtains! (although our friends next door did have black out curtains) The sun came up so early and we were woken by the brightness!! When we complained to reception they really didn't care or understand what we meant. They kept sending random people up to our room with different appliances, for example, a clothes horse? A frying pan?! We ended up having to take a photograph of our room so that they'd understand, but we were basically told that they couldn't help. Our showers was also blocked. A very nice handy man came up and unblocked it but the smell was awful and lingered for hours.
One night I had a really bad headache (probably due to lack of sleep) but my early night was wrecked by the nightclub under our room kicking off at 11pm.
The hotel itself is like a rabbit warren. Very confusing. Can get quite stressful when in skiing gear and trying to walk through the roasting corridors to get to your room!!
We were self catering and there's a shop on site, which is quite expensive but handy. The restaurant serves usual buffet type stuff that gets kinda boring after a while.
Lastly there is no maid service. You have to put own bins out etc. on last morning an inspector comes round to check the rooms before you get your deposit back.
The town of Sestriere itself is good enough. For entertainment I highly recommend doing a pub crawl with the reps. We found out about bars and night clubs that we would have never found!
The ski slopes are great too and the hotel is very close to the lifts. All in all it would probably be an ok hotel to stay in, we just had a few unlucky incidents. I'd highly recommend that if you have enough money only put 2 per room though!!

Dear Clare,
we are really sorry that you find our room unconfortable; our Bilocale is 53 square meter, so it's a standard bilocale suite for 4 people.
It's very strange that you didn't find the courtains, because we made a check of the room every week, before the arrival of our guest.
Our disco Never-ending Night is far enought from the rooms, so the music do not reach the rooms.
With residence formula, housekeeping is not included, and it's also specified on our voucher.
Anyway, if you want to have more information, I kindly invite you to e-mail us, so we can answer to your opinion.
Best regards.

We spent a week at the Villaggio Olimpico during the summer off season. It is most definitely a ski town, but we found plenty to do! The town is beautiful and there is some excellent hiking around the hotel. The staff was friendly and engaging, making sure we were happy and involved despite the language barrier. Additionally, I loved the events - karaokee, casino night, even a cabaret!

The rooms were minimalist, but very comfortable for two people, especially as we were often out and about. The hallways could run a bit loud, but as there were very few people there, it was not a big problem. Additionally, the rooms were hot, which we solved by sleeping with the doors open. We were even able to cook a meal of pasta and homemade sauce one night with the utensils provided. The cafeteria style meals were ok... a bit expensive for what you got, but the pizza corner was great. I also got an Indian Massage at the beauty farm, which made me feel as relaxed as jelly for 24 hours!

Special thanks to Alice and Giovanna, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! We will be back!

Room Tip: Block A was fairly quiet. Higher floors would be better.

i have just spent a fantastic week at the Villagio Olimpico on a half board basis. After reading the mixed reviews on here i was not sure what to expect, what i found was an honest straight forward hotel with decent food and reasonably spacious (for 2 in a double ) rooms. The best part is definately the location, just over the road from the main chairlift giving access to the largest of the two ski areas available, and opening up the next resort of Sauze douz.and even the option of a hard days ski into France (only if the snow allows).
if asked i would not hesitate to reccomend this hotel - the only 'fault' i found was the stuffy overheated rooms but that is being very picky as there is nothing worse than being cold in your room.

Room Tip: the rooms in block F are nearest to the slopes and avoid a long walk to the resturant. ski hire from the hotel hire depot is just next to the reception.
