We have got a family suite on the fourth floor.
Wonderful room for 4 people family. Functional, clean, well decorated.
Food restaurant excellent. Fair prices. Cousy atmosphere.
Family hotel with very personal and good service.
Afternoon happy hour salon with 360 degrees view on fifth floor - the best we have seen ever (30 years ski experience).
Slopes in 5 minutes walking distance.
We hired equipment near by the slopes, where we have been directed by the hotel. Al Barachin . Thanks to hotel we have got great prices. We also stored the equipment on the same place - ski in ski out. Wonderful service.

3 of us stayed in room 305 which had a bedroom and in the main room another bed (double/twin) as well as the sofabed, so in theory could have slept 6.

The swimming pool is actually the town pool next door, and the hotel have to give yo a voucher to get in.

The breakfast was quite basic and a few items you had to request to be cooked which is nice as it means it is fresh, however you have to pay €1 if you want a croissant.

The hotel doesn't have a bar / relaxing area as such, it is all part of the restaurant. After a days skiing I like to sit in a bar and not feel I am watching people eat their food.

The hotel does have a gym, kids area and a undercover garage (€10 per day)

They arrange ski hire with a company right on the slopes who give an excellent service including storing shows during the day, skis and boots overnight and each morning they had our skis outside waiting for us. They even asked us to pay at the end! I paid €80 for 6 days ski and pole hire.

The location good, only 10 min walk to the lifts. The family room was slightly bizarre, the bedroom with the bunk beds had a big pillar right in the middle of the room. Overall our stay was comfortable, we liked Davide's hospitality and the food was quite good. Only thing that was negative was that we weren't told that the hotel locks its doors at midnight so if you don't want to risk getting locked out in the middle of the night there is a way in through the garage. Information that would have been helpful before.

Fabulous location for the slopes, wonderful hosts and staff.

You can buy a location but it’s the people you meet that can make or break a holiday.

The Shackleton is owned by the Coda family and they took a very active role in making sure our holiday was perfect.

Our room was great, the food was lovely and having a pool and Sauna right next door was a great apres ski option for us.

Nothing was too much trouble.

Davide especially made our visit “tranquillo”.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

Thanks from us to you all and see you soon.

The hotel is a contemporary gem right in the centre of town. Very good location for the main square, restaurants and the ski lifts. The hotel has partnered with a ski rental shop, Noleggio Rosanna, which is adjacent to one of the main chair lifts in Sestriere. Here one can rent skis and store them overnight eliminating the need to walk back to hotel in ski boots. They even stored my skis which i own which helped a lot and were so obliging when they had to open early for me for my early departure. Thank you Rosanna.

Back to the hotel...Davide and his wife were amazing hosts. Their team was extremely hospitable, namely Federica, who went out of her way to make us feel at home. The room was large, very comfortable and clean. Due to the contemporary design each room appears to have plenty of light, a terrace and a mountain.

Davide, an ex racer, also offers guiding and ski instruction. We took advantage of this service and spent a really wonderful day skiing across to Montgenevre and back, something we would never have been able to achieve without.

The hotel also offers airport transport to and from Turin airport. I'm not sure how to spell his name but Milye(?) looked after us very well on that front too.

Thank you to David, Federica, all the restaurant staff and Milye(?). We hope to return.
