This was our first stay in Hotel Cristallo, on our 8th visit to Sestriere. The location is second to none, being extremely close to the main chair lift to the ski slopes and the shops in the centre of the village. The room was fairly small but comfortable, with a wide ranging breakfast included. The staff on the front desk were really nice and welcoming. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms are not noisy internally but we had a room facing the main road which is busy and without earplugs would disturb light sleepers!

Hotel is good quality and service was excellent. We stayed here with 3 families for a week of skiing. I anticipated beforehand that the street would be noisy so I reserved a room facing the backyard (a basement). This room was quiet. Our room was for 3 so 1 extra bed which was a sofa and definitely meant for a teenager. Anyway I had to sleep there and the bed was too short. All mattresses were very hard which was OK for me, but all others seemed to mind. We had half board, and the food in the restaurant was good as the service was very friendly. We have had better food though with earlier trips to Italian hotels. Since this was a package trip I cannot comment on price but somewhere around 3-4 star price should be OK. Location right by the lift ticket office, ski rentals and 20 meters to hit the slopes.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms not facing the street. Street rooms have good views to the mountains

The hotel is situated just 1 min walk from first skiing piste

Rooms are okey and always cleaned well
Jacuzzi area small but clean. Central heating killed me a bit but I’m not used to it.
Very vast Breakfast and between 1600 and 1700 they offer some tea, coffee and cakes

Great hotel, great location and restaurant and bar staff were amazing!
However, staff at reception was consistently rude and unhelpful, wasting huge amounts of our precious holiday time.
To top it all, they attempted to charge wine etc to our room at checkout, with no justification for it whatsoever! Left a bad taste..

Nice size hotel in comparison with some of the huge Frence ski ones we have stayed in before. Probably only about 40 rooms. Possibly because of this the staff are all really friendly and helpful, rembering for example that you like a fresh coffee in the morning, or what drink you like from the bar.

ROOM. Paid a bit more for a front facing room which was a bit large than normal rooms. Good size, well speckled, and view of pieste. As it had two large windows was a bit cold, but they gave us small electric heater so no problem.

FOOD. Nice breakfast. Coffee machine is awful, but ask the waiter food a fresh one or two, which is really nice. Evening food starts at 7.30 and most people go in then. 4 courses. First is a buffet. Second and third, you order the morning before. Really nice food, but not for those who want burger and chips. Great pasta, fish and other nice Italian food.

GENERAL . Bar small and friendly, not badly priced drinks. Would have liked it a little warmer though.

SKIING. Getting going is a bit unusual. You store your ski,s across the road one flour down in a free ski storage place. You keep your boots in a boot room lower floor in the hotel. From there you go up one floor and out of the front door across the road, down a level to pick up your skis. Take your skis down one flight of stairs to the slopes. Not to bad, just a bit unusual. Resort asking very good a slopes even over new year were a lot quieter than the big French ski resorts. Only neg is they seem quite quick to close lifts.

Overall would come back, and recommend to thers
