Our visit coincided with a blizzard. The lifts simply did not operate on one day which left us time to experience this hotel in more depth than we might have otherwise. It was fab.

The Christmas decorations were still up and they were cheery and a bit quirky. Good fun! The traditional restaurant had a lovely buffet. The food was presented beautifully.

Giuseppe in the lounge was an amazing cocktail master. He makes a special spritz that will knock your socks off, so beautifully crafted and presented. His High Tea cocktail is served in a teapot and is the lightest, most gentle of gin drinks. We love the vibe in the lounge with comfy cozy banquettes to sit on.

The rooms are large, we had a lovely view. The ski lockers are perfect, everything will dry nicely.

The hotel can be tricky to find. High snow hid signs, but once you find it you may not want to leave.

Brilliant for ski in and ski out, great facilities and fabulous food and wine. Spa was also wonderful with outdoor hot tub.

Great lounge bar, staff attentive and very friendly.

Fantastic holiday!

Stayed for one week, ski in ski out. Fantastic food, seemed to be all cooked from fresh! Staff couldn’t do enough. Went for the upgraded room and it was a great size, could easily sleep 3 or 4 but we had it for 2, would definitely recommend

We booked this as we were informed that it is the best hotel in the centre of Turin.

We arrived late as our flight had been delayed. We had informed the front desk of this, but check in wasn’t the smoothest.

Our initial impression of our Junior Suite was that it was OK but looked tired. Everything was in working order but the furniture has definitely seen better days. The decoration tries to emulate Art Deco. I imagine that when new the rooms were lovely, but not so now. The bathroom was nice, but the provided toiletries are an odd choice. Intimate wash by the bidet but no conditioner. I’d rather have shiny hair, than squeaky clean nether regions. Room service couldn’t provide conditioner, when asked.

Beware, the mini bar. It’s extortionate. As is room service. Tea for 3 people, £30!!!!!! With no milk provided.

If you want to watch TV. There are only 2 English channels which are both news.

Breakfast is awful. The lack of service is notable. Staff tend to ignore you, which is not great when they are meant to ask if you require a hot beverage and deliver it to your table. When you do get tea you make it yourself from the teabags provided in a dish. This is hit & miss as there may not be the tea of your choice & asking a member of staff can be tricky if you can get one to help you. You also have to request orange juice. The choice of food is limited. Cereal is almost rationed as you serve yourself from a 1 litre kilner jar with a desert spoon into a tiny bowl. The milk jug was empty on 2 occasions out of 3.

We used the spa & gym whilst staying. This is another €15 per person. The gym is tiny. Only 1 treadmill & the spa itself isn’t particularly impressive. Trying, to get towels, robes & slippers was ridiculous. For 3 of us we had 2 robes, two pairs of slippers and 1 towel! Two of us couldn’t get lockers to work, so I guess that in general the locks are broken. As usual staff are difficult to track down.

We had the misfortune to stay whilst Torino football club were in residence. This meant crowds of people at the blocked off entrance. We had to sneak through a cordoned off area to get through the front door, which at the other side a large number of police were ignoring the crowd outside in order to get autographs! It turned out they lost & sacked their manager, so you can guess the rest.

At best this hotel is average. It definitely doesn’t deserve the advertised 5 star rating. I would only choose to stay here again as there is nothing better. Even the locals say it’s the best in the area. This suggests to me that either expectations are low or they have a differing view of what makes a 5 Star hotel.
